Re: It's time to scrap MTOs

YES! All the great players of the time before that still managed to win many slams and tournaments without medical timeouts. There was a time when players could not sit down until a set was completed.

Re: Roger Federer: Wimbledon 'all-white' clothing rule is too strict

Dumb tradition! Roger is right. Not playing on the middle Sunday is another dumb Wimbledon tradition.

Re: Rafa is done- Sad times?

Due to his game style, Rafa May be in temporary decline, or perhaps done as a top 5 player. IF so, the fact is, that he was fit and talented long enough to win 14 slams and have a dominating H-H...

Re: Wimbledon R2: [Q] Brown def. [10] Nadal, 7-5 3-6 6-4 6-4

True, but Pete was superior to Rafa on Grass, HC, and carpet. In the 90's, and before, there was a bigger difference in the court speeds of grass and clay, which what makes Borg's achievements at the...

Re: Wimbledon R2: [Q] Brown def. [10] Nadal, 7-5 3-6 6-4 6-4

I think this match is an indication of how Sampras would have handled Nadal at Wimbledon. In the 90's Nadal probably would never have won a set against Pete at Wimbledon.

Re: Kyrgios and The Sampras Comparison

Pete is #2 of the open era, 4 or 5 since 1950. Nick is an incomplete, but potentially great player.

Get a life, or are you some sort of a grammar teacher? This forum is hardly an language class, nor should it be.

Re: Make the worst possible player from the Big 3's attributes

One does not win 17,14 or 8 slams by having serious game flaws. Therefore, even with the most serious game flaws of the big four, one would be a top 5-10 player.

Of course he would! I certainly would, if I had such and option.

Re: Djokovic Should Tank Everything but Slams and Exhos If He Wants to Become GOAT

Playing IW, MC and Miami had nothing to do with Novak losing the FO final. He was wise to skip Madrid, so was rested for the FO. Unfortunately, for him, he had to play 2 days before the final against...

Re: Does anyone else notice a pattern with Nole's most successful tournaments?

At the USO, before he saved those match points, the crowd was about 90% pro Federer.

Re: John McEnroe: Rafa should never play the Roland Garros again!

Federer's best surface is still grass, which does not take as much energy out of his game as clay does to Rafa. I would think Rafa should not skip the FO, but should skip Barcelona and either Madrid...

Re: Did Roddick retire too early?

Both won their slams in transitional era's, which is why Hewitt has 80 weeks at #1. I would rate Hewitt as an overachiever and Roddick an underachiever. Roddick with his great serve and potential...

Re: Borg/McEnroe/Connors Down Under

That is their problem! They chose not to go for various reasons. There are many variable reasons as to why players avoid or do not do as well at some slams than at others. Also, slam count was not as...

Re: Srdjan Djokovic: Novak will become the GOAT

As in tennis golf equipment, especially the clubs, have made the game much easier than it was in Jack's day. This is not to deny Tiger's exceptional greatness, but again, players need to be compared...

Re: 35 facts that prove Federer is the GOAT

ALL TIME is not the same as Open Era. There is little doubt that, overall, Roger is the greatest of the open era. All Time, he is in the same league as: Laver, Rosewall, Gonzalez, Tilden and Budge....

Re: "Djokovic at centre of CHEAT row as Becker confirms use of special signals"

CORRECT! Federer plays the game in the style and by the rules of the pre 90's generations. If the officials are totally against Any form of coaching, perhaps they should place the coaches further...

Re: WWW Wimbledon R1: [2] Federer vs Dzumhur?

Quite frankly, I do not know how the seeding system affects the draws. My main complaint is when too many top players are in one part of the draw, giving some top players an easier path to the semis...

Re: WWW Wimbledon R1: [2] Federer vs Dzumhur?

Well at least he is in the top 100, now ranked 87. It is weird that the second ranked player gets to play a nobody, whereas, the top ranked player gets a tough high quality player in the first round....
