Re: US Open 3R: (32) Fabio FOGnini expels (8) Rafael Nadal 3-6 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-4

Same here, but thrilled Fabio showed he can be a serious great player. Just keep it up Fabio! Best match of this USO, so far.

Re: USO R3: Paire double breadsticks Robredo 7-6 (7-3), 6-1, 6-1

WOUNDERFUL RESULT! Paire is a fun player to watch. He can be brilliant and awful at the same time. I hope he goes far into this tournament.

Re: Would Djokovic have ever won Wimbledon if his prime began at same time as Federer

Great grass court players usually have outstanding serves and a great net game. Roger, today has both, as good or better than in 03-13. Roddick, besides having a great serve had an outstanding...

Re: Would Djokovic have ever won Wimbledon if his prime began at same time as Federer

BULLSHIT! This error prone, lethargic Federer of today happens to be the #2 ranked player Today and probably will be so at years end. His game today is more suited for grass today than ever before,...

Re: How many people here would actually like Djokovic to win the French Open?

As much as I would like him to win it, Novak has to win the FO, before he deserves it. Though I am a Novak fan, I would not consider him an all time great yet. Another 2 or 3 slams would do it for me.

Re: Bold prediction: Tsonga will reach the USO final

Tsonga will NOT reach this USO final, though I would not be unhappy if he did.

Re: Should Djokovic ask Federer for some volley practice?

TRUE! If Becker can't help him become a better volleyer, no one can. Not every player is capable of being a great net player. Certainly, Roger would never want to help Novak.

Re: Kyrgios has the ability of Tsonga and the mind of Monfils?

I Agree! Nick is extremely talented, but mentally, seriously troubled. It was rather sad last night watching him play so well and then attempt such stupid shots. Imagine if Coric, a fine player, with...

Re: RF: "Novak is good, but I didn't have to adapt to his game"

Novak is a better version of Agassi an Hewitt, whose style Roger had already adapted to. Novak has had more success against Roger than anyone, other than Rafa. Perhaps that is because Novak is as...

Re: Peak Djokovic losing usoQF to weakest-Rafa = disaster for Djok's legacy?

It did not ruin Federer's career when he lost to very young Rafa, when he was at his peak. Rafa could play very well against Novak if they meet in the quarters. If he does, he has a good chance of...

Why are idiotic threads like this allowed here?

Re: Borna Coric is a poor man Juan Monaco

To my old eyes, Nadal's game looked much better last night than it has in quite some time. We will have a better idea of his game when he plays higher ranked and more experienced player than Borna....

Re: Borna Coric is a poor man Juan Monaco

Coric is only 18 and has much potential. He gave Nadal a very tough match last night, and acted much more mature than some of his older contemporary players. Rublev may prove to be the better...

Re: 2015 USO speed of the courts thread

What makes you so sure Rafa will reach the finals? I doubt that he will.

Re: Federer vs. Connors/Lendl/Agassi at age 33/34 season...

Rosewall also won the USO in 70 at 35, the AO in a very competitive year in 71 at 36 and another AO at 37 in 72. He also beat Laver in 2 WCT finals in 71-72 at 36 and 37. He also reached the Wimby...

Re: Roger Federer about Wimbledon: "Maybe I peaked too early against Murray"

Maybe that is because Novak did not allow Roger to dominate him as he did an exhausted Murray in the semi's? Sour grapes from Roger, IMO.

Re: Djokovic: Federer is playing the best tennis he has ever played.

So now Roger's peak ended in 05? Great players look even greater against much lesser players. Novak, Rafa and Murray are far superior consistent players than Roger faced those years.

Re: Sampras vs Nadal

Borg had 2 years ending at #1. Connors had 5, Lendl and McEnroe had 4, Sampras had 6, Federer had 5, Nadal had 3, Novak will probably have 4 at the end of this year. Laver had 1 year in the open era....

Re: Sampras vs Nadal

TRUE! With that sort of game, and especially with his serve, Nadal would do very poorly against Pete on any hard court and especially grass.

Re: Sampras vs Nadal

Borg- O USO. He lost 4 finals: 2 vs Connors, 2 VS McEnroe. I think one of his losses to Connors was on clay.

Agassi- 0 Wimbledons in an era with Sampras and Federer

Novak- 0 FO, sorry to say, in an...

Re: Sampras vs Nadal

Overall, I give Pete the slight edge. Were the Masters 1000 tournaments mandatory in the 90's?
