Re: Surely time is up now for Jim Courier… Should he be sacked?

This one wasn't as bad for him as that GB tie.

But the Bryans have to be gone now. With a 4 man roster, you sacrifice a lot of flexibility putting 2 guys in there who can't play singles. It would...

Re: WWW Newport F: (3)Muller vs. (2)Karlovic

Muller isn't good enough to win a title. Hopefully Karlovic rejects his latest attempt.

It will be a terrible match, regardless.

The most troubling bosses in the game are optional ones. If you find the snowy castle (it's a secret area), the boss at the end is very tough. Also, if you find the upper cathedral ward (another...

I agree, it's kind of a bullshit boss, it's only hard because it poisons you. It's annoying how you have to collect blood echoes to buy antidotes when you run out. And also, it's annoying that the...

Re: Which Game consoles do you own?

Does anybody play the Witcher 3?

I got it last summer when it came out, but didn't bother playing it that much. But I've been getting into it now, and oh man is it a gorgeous game. The world is...

I love From Software games. Bloodborne is great, yeah.

If you find the Blood Starved Beast hard, wait until some of the later bosses! But you'll get better and learn how to master the combat,...

Re: HBO game of thrones - anyone watching?

Oh FFS, you could have warned us that was a major FUTURE spoiler. But if it does happen, I'd be happy.

Re: HBO game of thrones - anyone watching?

This show is turning to shit again, like last season.

Even though it finished just a short while ago, I'm struggling to think of more than a handful of interesting moments that occurred.

At...

Re: 2016 Live commentary thread vol. 11

But he bullies most of his regular opponents and doesn't run nearly as much as he does in this match-up. The heavy conditions for Thiem aren't good either, much more energy sapping. I personally feel...

Re: 2016 Live commentary thread vol. 11

Great play from Thiem. He has to work so hard in this match-up, which is why I'm sceptical of his ability to win in BO5, but it's really fun to watch the contrast in styles at play here.

Hope the...

Re: 2016 Live commentary thread vol. 11

Thiem is a good scrapper and fighter, and that forehand is monstrous when he has time. However, if you could design a player in a lab to expose his weaknesses, you'd go for something close to Goffin....

Re: 2016 Live commentary thread vol. 10

This is like watching a father school his son. That third set donation was just so Nishikori didn't cry too much.

Re: 2016 Live commentary thread vol. 10

FFS Gasquet. You don't go behind little guys on the approach, they turn too quickly.

Re: 2016 Live commentary thread vol. 10

Ding ding, and would you know it, he's never won a big title in his life. Body language is generally a good indicator of a player's relative standing in the game. That generation of players born...

Re: 2016 Live commentary thread vol. 10

Are you talking about the lob that Nishikori left by mistake? That was not lucky, it was textbook. To me it just seemed like Nishikori didn't fancy bricking the backhand overhead.

Re: 2016 Live commentary thread vol. 10

Gasquet has owned Nishikori throughout the years. I wouldn't have read too much into the recent two defeats he had against him, especially if the injury problem he had was particularly limiting.

Re: 2016 Live commentary thread vol. 10

Nishikori is so overrated. Cannot believe people believed he could beat Murray in this tournament, and that still stands if he somehow finds a way back into this match.

Re: Wtaw (Gen. WTA Discussion) [Volume III]

Kasatkina is fighting! I absolutely love her game, even if it isn't so great for clay.

Surely Bertens must be getting tired from all the tennis she has played recently.

Re: WWW: NCAA Individual Championship 2016

Did Cameron Norrie stop representing Great Britain then?

And I kind of remember watching Torpegaard against Rafa last year in Davis Cup, but I don't recall how he plays. It was on a tiny screen on...

Re: RG R3: [5] Nishikori def. Verdasco 6-3 6-4 3-6 2-6 6-4

Verdasco can stay as a good tour level player for a few more years I reckon. His style requires next to no athleticism, which means he should age well. Obviously that is dependent on him staying...

Re: RG R3: [2] Andy Murray def. [27] Ivo Karlovic 6-1 6-4 7-6(3)

I don't expect Murray to be challenged again until the semi-finals. I put his early round woes down to tough conditions, and a player he probably knew absolutely nothing about playing the match of...

Re: Wtaw (Gen. WTA Discussion) [Volume III]

What is going on with Vinci? I know she's always been way overranked for a while now (especially this season), but she's barely winning ANY matches against semi-decent opponents these days....

Re: 2016 Live commentary thread vol. 9

Troicki has definitely got this, Dimitrov looks shot of confidence on every single stroke. It is especially evident on the return and the backhand, which will need to function in order to get the...

Re: 2016 Live commentary thread vol. 9

Pretty sure Dimitrov got down to 1.01 or 1.02 when he was up a break in the 4th, haha. Now at 4.5 down a break in the 5th, which seems a tad short considering the baggage, though I guess it's Troicki...
