Re: Federer at 35 is evolving tennis more than a no.1 in his prime

Yep - it's all about money and they need rivalries - nobody's interested in paying to see a match they already know the result of. Same reason why they made the surfaces so homogenous - had to get...

Re: Shots fired. Bernard Tomic: "Federer is nowhere near Novak's tennis"

It's strange that a lower ranked player will say that #3 is nowhere near Novak's tennis. Fed is closer to Novak than Tomic is and it's not that Fed hasn't beaten him recently (last couple years), he...

Re: Nadal: ''Since I know this sport I never saw somebody playing at this level''

It's all about match ups - Nadal should know this given his matchup with Fed. Some styles/players give others trouble. Obviously, Fed's game gives Nole more trouble than Rafa's. Opponent's...

Re: WTF SF: Djokovic def Nadal 6-3 6-3

Nole's just a bad matchup for Nadal. No worries, no pressure.

Re: WTF RR: (3) Roger Federer def. (1) Novak Djokovic 7-5 6-2

Congrats, Fed. These two always have pretty good matches. Can't beat Nole in bo5, but bo3 on low-bouncing court, he's still there.

Re: Nadal reiterates desire to see season-ending championship on clay

Stop the whining. They can change it to clay if they change RG to HC or grass.

Re: Nadal is Only Great on Clay and is Biggest Conditions Beneficiary

That statement is like, "Water is wet."

Ask yourself - if Nadal had been born 50, 40, 30, 20, even 10 years earlier, would he have won anywhere near 14 GS titles? The clay ones are given, but the...

Re: The 40 most accomplished singles players of 1990/2000s

This makes it so clear to see that Fed's career is second to none.

Re: If Federer wins the US Open, do you think he will retire from tennis?

She's probably either pregnant or wants to follow Fognini around (like Steffi did with Agassi - what a waste to retire at 30).

This claim is based on the greatness of Fed.

Re: WWW: US Open Final: [1] Novak Djokovic vs [2] Roger Federer

Can't please some Nole fans. When Fed fans vote Fed, they complain. Now, they're voting Nole, they still complain. The fact is that Nole's average game is better/more consistent than Fed's average...

Re: If Federer does really win, how would be celebrate?

She actually doesn't look too bad in those black, skinny jeans.

To OP, there is NOTHING like the first one. When he won his last Wimbledon and became #1, I felt that was so incredible. If he won...

Re: WWW: US Open Final: [1] Novak Djokovic vs [2] Roger Federer

Poll is currently 110-90 Nole. Fed fans very cautious this tourney compared to Wimbledon - they've learned their lesson - expect a loss - then no disappointment except in the unlikely case he wins...

Re: WWW: US Open Final: [1] Novak Djokovic vs [2] Roger Federer

The strange thing is that I feel better about Fed's chances here than at Wimbledon. I knew he couldn't play two great matches in a row at Wimbledon - which is what is required to beat Nole (JesusFed...

Re: WWW: US Open Final: [1] Novak Djokovic vs [2] Roger Federer

My heart says Fed, but my head says Nole in 4. It'll be rainy and humid on Sunday - slow conditions - not good for Fed.

Re: Djokovic: Federer is playing the best tennis he has ever played.

The Fed haters will say Fed's peak was a weak era, but what does it say about this era when he's #2 at 34 years old and he is clearly declined from his peak. I don't care who says he's a better...

Re: Djokovic: Federer is playing the best tennis he has ever played.

At Fed's peak from 2004-07, the question was not who would win, but how many games would Fed's opponent take off him. Is that the case today? Back then, Federer was so much better than the field...

Re: Roger Federer about Wimbledon: "Maybe I peaked too early against Murray"

Fed plays as he did against Murray once in a blue moon. Unfortunately, consistency goes with age and the way he played 2004-07 is a crap shoot nowadays - like what side of the bed am I getting up on...

Re: Novak Djokovic has a better forehand than Federer

And the reason is not because he's got a better forehand than Federer. It's because Federer is old. Federer's forehand back in the day was a devastating weapon - not the fluff that it is today with...

Re: Sampras vs Nadal

Historically, the order of importance has been:

1. Wimbledon
2. US
3. French
4. Australian

Note that with the advent of private jets, supersonic jets, etc., they are much more on an...

Re: Federer & Murray fans, would you swap your man's season for Wawrinka's?

We've already seen an example of this in Sampras - no titles in over 2 years and boom ends his career on top with a slam. Who remembers the 2 years - all people remember is that he retired as US...

Re: Federer & Murray fans, would you swap your man's season for Wawrinka's?

The slam for sure - especially since it's a FO. At this stage of his career, slams are more meaningful than #2 ranking to Fed's legacy. How is another Dubai or Halle or Cincy valuable to him? Now,...

Re: WWW: US Open R1: Nadal vs. Coric

I want Nadal to lose asap so Nole will play him even before the quarters of tourneys. Time for the youngsters to make a stand.

Re: stop it about federer winning slams.. its over..

Two things will increase his chance of winning substantially: Murray and Stan in Nole's half of the draw. Don't like Nadal in Fed's quarter, but in Rafa's current form, he probably won't make...

Re: stop it about federer winning slams.. its over..

Fed just needs things to fall his way. The draw can open up via upsets, he could have favorable opponents, he can squeak by some player by the skin of his teeth when he's isn't playing too well, or...
