Re: A win is a win and a loss is a loss. Period.

I agree, unless a player gets a serious injury during a match, then there is no injury excuse for losing. Years ago the Aussies had a rule that if you go on court to play, you should not make excuses...

Re: Some flawed (IMO )arguements given for djokovic

Well, I am one American who roots for Novak. As to that interview you mention, as I recall, Roddick had been making sarcastic remarks about Novak's having to retire from some matches due to heat...

Re: Some flawed (IMO )arguements given for djokovic

To make a long story short, all great players lose to other great players of their era. They also, every now and then, lose to lesser players or their era too. Federer had no great competition till...

Re: Sampras 98, Hewitt 01, Roddick 03 vs Djokovic 08

Hopefully, you are Trying to be funny, as that is about the dumbest statement ever on this board. Forget the comedian act, and stick to your day job. That is, of course, you are old enough to be...

Re: Is the post-Wimbledon clary court season necessary?

As long as the tournaments make money and fans enjoy the tennis, they should continue. They are not necessary for the top players, but these tournaments are great for the lower ranked players as it...

Re: Sampras 98, Hewitt 01, Roddick 03 vs Djokovic 08

Agassi's fooling around during his prime is much exaggerated here. Whatever, Sampras and Nadal have won 14 slams, accept the REALITY.

Re: All time ranking of players by playing strength

Perhaps, to be fair, there should b GOAT candidates for pre open era and open era. This way pro slams would be valid for the pre open era and the pro tour players would get their fair due. Therefore,...

Re: Safin in 2000 and Hewitt in 2001

BULLSHIT! A player cannot win 14 slams without being a great player. To say otherwise, is Pathetically Stupid! Great players adjust to the court conditions of the era they are competing in.

Re: Safin in 2000 and Hewitt in 2001

NONSENSE! To say that Karlovic had even half the all round game Sampras did is ignorant, at best, or just hateful babble.

Re: Hamburg R2: Paire def Robredo 26 63 75

One thing for sure, Paire is not boring. One never knows what to expect from him. He hit one incredible drop shot on one break point. I hope he continues to perform well in the future.

Re: Nadal never had his own era

Like it or not, clay has been a major tennis court surface longer than hard courts. Today, many more tournaments are played on clay than grass courts, so there is no excuse for top players to have...

Re: All time ranking of players by playing strength

In that you have Gonzalez and Laver on your list, then Rosewall has to be on it too. Ken had more amateur slams than Gonzalez and more pro slams than Gonzalez as well. Gonzalez never won a clay slam....

Re: Sampras 98, Hewitt 01, Roddick 03 vs Djokovic 08

I have been an avid Novak fan the past few years, however, to say that he is better than the other great players of all time, is nonsense. No doubt he could compete with the best of them, but he is...

Re: 2003 Federer vs 2015 Djokovic Wimbledon Final

We will Never know, and it really doesn't matter. IMO, It would be close and could go either way. Federer is older, but in some ways better than he was back then, and certainly smarter.

Re: Where does Djoko 2015 rank in the all time great seasons?

There was NO hard court slam in 69. From what most say, in 69, the clay was slower at RG and the grass was faster at Wimbledon than today. If Rosewall, on the pro tour, could win slams on clay, hard,...

Re: Benoit Paire maiden title celebration in an endless loop.

I AGREE! I thought Paire was rather restrained for a first tour win. Another underachieving French talent. Hopefully, this win will give him the confidence to win more

Re: Hamburg Main Draw

Madrid is a mandatory Masters 1000. Therefore all the top players are competing. This Hamburg draw is third rate, at best.

Re: Tomic: "I will not drink any more alcohol until I win a Grand Slam title"

Good luck Bernie-LOL! In about 5 years, with no slams, you can start drinking again. After that time, there will be absolutely NO hope of you ever reach is slam semi final.

Re: When will Novak lose his #1 ranking (even for a week)?

Hopefully it will Not happen, but Novak could get injured and lose a lot or ranking points, thus his ranking. Otherwise I think he will be #1 for quite some time.

Re: Monfils aims to reach the top five within two years

No Way. Monfils would be lucky to make the top 10 and stay there for any length of time. He is NO threat to Novak!
