Re: USO R1: Federer def. Leo Mayer 6-1 6-2 6-2

The only disappointing stat, 5 DFs for Rogie.

Re: Federer vs. Connors/Lendl/Agassi at age 33/34 season...

It is a weak era, but that's not Rogie's fault. He's taking full advantage of it and still inflicting damage on the rest of the ATP (except against Djokovic on non-fast hard courts). He's won 5...

Re: Federer vs. Connors/Lendl/Agassi at age 33/34 season...

Yes I was thinking the last man to be this good at age 33/34 since Rogie now was back in the 1970's in Ken Rosewall. All the way back to the beginning of the Open Era, over 40 years ago. Rogie is...

Re: Federer vs. Connors/Lendl/Agassi at age 33/34 season...

I don't see Rafa in 2020 and Djokovic and/or Mugray in 2021 being this good. This is of course if they're even still playing in their age 33/34 season. Rogie has proven he has true longevity.

Federer vs. Connors/Lendl/Agassi at age 33/34 season...

Connors (1986): 45-15 record, 0 titles (0-4 in finals), ranked #8, played few grand slam matches all year
Lendl (1994): 28-18 record, 0 titles (0-1 in finals), ranked #54, same regarding grand slams...

Re: If No1e fails to win the US Open he needs to fire Boris Becker

Is Djokovic's eyesight really giving him any trouble? He wears contacts whenever he plays right? Shouldn't be a problem.

Re: US Open: Your ideal draw

That's a good question. With his lack of preparation, he'd be better off skipping it.

How many of the 9 Masters does Federer have to play?

6 of 9, or technically none if he so chooses?

Re: Will Federer ever win Monte Carlo and/or Rome?

Speaking of that, I'm still waiting for a Rogie-Mugray meeting on clay.

Re: Will Novak Djokovic ever overtake Roger Federer in their H2H?

No doubt, Rogie's career will be better than Djokovic's, but both can say they're the best player their country has ever produced as of now.

Re: Will Novak Djokovic ever overtake Roger Federer in their H2H?

The Rogie-Djokovic (21-20) rivalry is the greatest one I've seen since 2002. It's much better than Rogie-Rafa (10-23) and Rogie-Mugray (14-11).

The fact the have split every grand slam (each has...

Re: Will Federer ever win Monte Carlo and/or Rome?

I can't imagine Rogie going through the 2015 USO, Shanghai, Basel, Paris, and London without winning at least 1 title.

Re: Will Federer ever win Monte Carlo and/or Rome?

Rogie has never retired in the middle of a match though, remember that, in almost 1,300 career matches played in singles.

Re: Will Federer ever win Monte Carlo and/or Rome?

Seriously, it's not like Rogie has zero shots to win them at all. He made the 2013 and 2015 Rome finals and in 2014 he made the 2014 MC final and almost won it.

Re: Will Federer ever win Monte Carlo and/or Rome?

Well what else is there for to focus on in 2016 and beyond, Lendl's win total, Connors' win total, Lendl's titles total, Connors' title total?

Re: Will Federer ever win Monte Carlo and/or Rome?

I think his main goals for 2016 should be... Monte Carlo, Rome, any GS title (unlikely, but focus most on FO for second career grand slam or W for sure), and Olympics singles gold in Rio one last...

Re: Federer : The Mother Of All Quests : 20 Slams And 100 Titles.

Here's how Rogie can get to 100 and then 110 for sure... play several more years and focus on playing a lot of 250s and 500s, he could rack up 10 titles per years there.

Will Federer ever win Monte Carlo and/or Rome?

I say one of them, but not both nor neither. I'm leaning towards Monte Carlo, he's come very close there and while he did come close at Rome too, that was in 2006, and I think 2015 was his last...

Re: Cincinnati R3: Roger Federer def. Kevin Anderson 6-1 6-1

He doesn't have to... Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; he had Wednesday off.

Re: Is Murray guaranteed #2 through Cincinnati/for the 2015 US Open?

Looking at that it seems like the rankings could be battle for #3 and #4 between Rogie and Wawrinka.

Yeah I suppose you're right. Can't wait to see the USO draw come out on Thursday 8/27, time still TBD.

Re: Is Murray guaranteed #2 through Cincinnati/for the 2015 US Open?

Yes, well Rogie just needs to win the title, that's the best thing for him and #7 could be his, while he's the freshest one out there now.

Re: Is Murray guaranteed #2 through Cincinnati/for the 2015 US Open?

Does this mean Rogie gets 10 also, so he's effectively 8,075?

Re: Is Murray guaranteed #2 through Cincinnati/for the 2015 US Open?

Well unless you're assuming they'll definitely put #2 and #3 on the same side of the draw at the USO, then yes it does matter. If 1/4 and 2/3 is guaranteed, then Rogie can be either, but if they do...
