Re: 1999 - 2001 Juniors

Kypson, Kirkov, and Ross all qualified. They also won their first round matches easily, as did Sam Riffice.

Re: 1999 - 2001 Juniors

Most of the top 1999 kids are playing the G1 clay court event in Ecuador. Sam Riffice is in the main draw and Patrick Kypson, Vasil Kirkov, Trent Bryde, and Gianni Ross are all in the final round of...

Re: Francis Tiafoe

He comes back and wins the third set 6-0! What a bizarre match. He has a rematch with Benjamin Balleret in the final.

Re: Francis Tiafoe

Tiafoe just lost the second set of his SF against Eriksson 7-5 after leading 6-3, 5-0. Unreal. He did about the same thing against Rublev at the U.S. Open and came back to win. Can he do it again?

Re: 1997-1998 Juniors: Wiersholm, Nava, Kozlov, Tiafoe, Mmoh, Blumberg, Ponwith, etc.

This is sort of random, but Jake DeVine is entered in the qualifying draw of next week's Futures. For those who don't remember, DeVine is a 17-year-old who, in 2013, finished runner-up in the 16s at...

Re: 1997-1998 Juniors: Wiersholm, Nava, Kozlov, Tiafoe, Mmoh, Blumberg, Ponwith, etc.

Opelka with an impressive 6-2, 6-3 win over Wil Spencer in the last round of qualifying at the F5 Futures in Florida. Unfortunately he drew the top seed, Christian Lindell, in round one.

Paul...

Re: 1999 - 2001 Juniors

Bellamy lost 2 and 1. I'm shocked that it was that lopsided.

Oh well. Bellamy could be the Sam Riffice of 2015.

Re: Stefan Kozlov

Hopefully video of the match will be posted like last year. I'd like to see both players. It sounds like Tsitsipas is very much an up-and-comer.

Re: 1997-1998 Juniors: Wiersholm, Nava, Kozlov, Tiafoe, Mmoh, Blumberg, Ponwith, etc.

At this point, I think Rybakov might prefer facing Djokovic if given the choice.

Re: 1997-1998 Juniors: Wiersholm, Nava, Kozlov, Tiafoe, Mmoh, Blumberg, Ponwith, etc.

I had to check: The five in 2009 were Jack Sock, Mitchell Frank, Junior Ore, Bob Van Overbeek, and Sekou Bangoura. Only Frank reached the SFs, beating Sock in the QFs. Frank lost in the semis. ...

Re: 1999 - 2001 Juniors

Bummer about Kypson. I wonder if he tweaked his abdomen in yesterday's final as Riffice suspected.

Riffice got bageled in the first set, but thankfully recovered.

Kind of surprised that Hance...

I understated Park's size. He's huge compared to Khan.

Re: Reilly Opelka

I did the math wrong. He'll actually have 470 points, which would put him at 47 this week.

Re: Reilly Opelka

If I did the math right, Opelka will have 460 points next week, which would put him in a tie for 49th in this week's ITF rankings.

Re: 1997-1998 Juniors: Wiersholm, Nava, Kozlov, Tiafoe, Mmoh, Blumberg, Ponwith, etc.

How do you think he compares to Isner? Is he better off the ground (or does he have the potential to be better)?

Re: 1997-1998 Juniors: Wiersholm, Nava, Kozlov, Tiafoe, Mmoh, Blumberg, Ponwith, etc.

Three major clay court tournaments, three different American champions. You could have gotten great odds on that happening three weeks ago. With Kozlov playing the Orange Bowl, there's a...

Re: 1999 - 2001 Juniors

I agree. Riffice is pretty clearly going to be a player. I'm not as sure about Kypson, but he showed some promise.

Re: 1999 - 2001 Juniors

It looks like Zane Khan just lost in the 12s. I'm not surprised, as he was at a major size disadvantage. Park had the size of a 14U player.
