Re: Why Federer got an easy draw, while Nadal got a tough draw?

Either Stan or Murray would be a harder SF opponent than anyone in Djoko's half, surely.

No matter what the draws are, Djoko, Fed and Murray have been the three most consistent players this year,...

Re: Players' Council publicly condemns Kyrgios

IMO, his behavior was extremely poor and warrants the announced fine, but that, with the public disapprobation, is probably enough.

The only other punishment I'd even consider is a probationary...

Re: Christos Kyrgios: Donna obviously loved the "kokk"

Does the brainless prick not realise he's just making things worse for his brother?

Re: Doping in Tennis Thread (No accusations without proof. Wada could test using hair

It's only track and field athletics.

The data are blood parameters, not drug tests, which would mostly be affected by blood doping and EPO, which is why Ashenden and Parisotto focused their analysis...

Re: Doping in Tennis Thread (No accusations without proof. Wada could test using hair

As this is a database from the IAAF, and recent analyses have focused on endurance athletes, these numbers do not include tennis players.

Who knows whether the ITF / ATP / WTA are sitting on a...

Re: Michael Mmoh celebration after winning a Futures title

He needs to practice these celebrations on the small tournaments, so that he gets his shirt-throwing technique down to a fine art, so that he doesn't look ridiculous should he ever try it on a big...

Re: Tennis fans are too judgemental/petty towards youngsters these days.

Their teenaged brattiness doesn't bother me, within reason. Most of them will grow out of it.

Their inability to string a decent run of results together is more of a concern.

Re: Glasgow to host Davis cup semi final

It'd have been nice to share it around, but arranging a three day booking (and all the set-up) in a massive venue, at short notice, will always be challenging. The best venues have their schedules...

Re: Federer withdraws from Rogers Cup

He'd also had some fairly mental scheduling in the clay season, with three matches (inc. doubles) at Munich on Saturday, and the final held over to Monday, followed by playing in the middle of the...

Re: A male tennis pro born in 1990s no slam final

Nishikori will continue to be included in this group until he, or a player younger than he, wins a slam. No need for an arbitrary cut-off based on the calendar year. The cut-off is the youngest...

Re: WWW DC SF: Great Britain v Australia

I was suggesting it for a possible final, not the semis. Problem is, it's a long shot. We might fall to Oz, The Argies might fall to Belgium. So it's hard to arrange any rescheduling at the O2, even...

Re: WWW DC SF: Great Britain v Australia

Eastbourne Centre Court seats 8000. It's our only regular court outside of Wimbledon that does. But I think it's an unlikely choice, and we will be more likely to build a temporary indoor...

Re: WWW DC SF: Great Britain v Australia

I just don't know if the grass can be in suitable condition in winter, even with the roof and lights. How about the O2, if it can be available?

Murray will already be used to that. So might the...

Re: Australian athlete Dawn Fraser launches controversial tirade against Kyrgios & To

I'd never heard of her, but from her Wiki page, it sounds as though she was no angel at their age.

And this xenophobic nonsense is very counter-productive. I think there's widespread disapproval of...

Re: Wimbledon R1: (WC) Broady def. Matosevic 5-7 4-6 6-3 6-2 6-3

Yeah, it's no big shakes, but at least they both reached top 200, and both have won a main draw match.

I just hope that Liam does better than Naomi at capitalising on it. She's had a shit year...

At the time of the original post, probably out clubbing. By now, he's probably in bed.

Re: New under 21 event before WTF

"Ranking points for such an event would be untenable for a rather obvious reason. It would effectively award a bonus on the basis of age, which no one above the arbitrary cutoff would ever accept....

Re: RG 2015 Djokovic vs RG 2004 Coria

You know what. If Coria had won that final, I think I would have semi-forgotten him by now. Not completely, but he would be quite a vague memory.

But that was such an epic, EPIC, career-defining...

Queens was never the week before Wimbledon. Nottingham has taken the place of Eastbourne, or its own former slot.

Re: ATP Halle QF: Seppi def. Monfils 6-1 1-0 ret.

Seppi is a surprisingly good grass courter. I'd think he stood a chance against Nishikori.

Poor Gael, that looks nasty, but it's his own fault.

Re: Wimbledon give 2014 Girls Juniors a MDWC for 2015, but none for 2014 Boys Champ..

It sounds as though he had a much, much better case than Rubin, and equivalent to Ostapenko. I wouldn't expect any slam to consider a player ranked outside the top 1000, unless they had an...

Re: Murray and crowds

Murray loves either a positive or negative crowd. He's not so good with a neutral, flat or sparse crowd.

Re: Nadal might play on clay after Wimbledon

As long as he's physically healthy, why not try to bolster his points and confidence on his favourite surface? Due to his early losses, he will have played less than usual for the time of year.

Re: How will Nadal be affected by having his birthday on the QF day?

It won't affect Nadal at all, but Djoko is such a generous guy that he's bound to want to give Nadal a lovely present.
