Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 6

He's way off his game lately, to be fair. At his best he beat Djokovic in a hard court masters semi, Federer in Davis Cup on clay, and took Nadal to 5 sets at Roland Garros. Like him or not, those...

Errani used Del Moral also, by her own admission. No doubt just a coincidence that after using Lance Armstrong's dope doctor she suddenly shot from nowhere to the RG final.

In Del Moral's own words:...

Head doctor at Safin's training base: a certain Luis Garcia Del Moral. Best known for running Lance Armstrong's doping operation, and subsequently being banned for life.

This individual was...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 6

Cute how Djokovic chokes like a rookie, just because the crowd is against him. You'd think a multi-slam winner wouldn't be so nervy at what's basically a glorified exho.

Ha, bp, time for a crappy error from Djokovic.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 6

Djokovic might want to try getting his basic rally ball beyond the service line.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 6

Well, that was a bit of a surprising lull from Djokovic. Two really basic rally errors down the centre of the court, and a df.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 6

Mrrrrm, that's some forehand from Berdy. When he really puts the hammer down, it zaps through these courts.

Re: Acapulco QF: [Q] Harrison def. [6] Karlovic 4-6 7-6 (0) 7-6 (4)

Ha, just saw this. Losing a tiebreak to zero, dear oh dear.

Imagine how dangerous Ivo might have been if he wasn't such a choker in tiebreaks.

Re: Dubai SF: [2] Federer def. [LL] Coric 6-2 6-1

Take the players' views this week: Gasquet called it "hyperfast", Djokovic said "much faster than other tournaments", Murray "quick", Federer referred to these "faster courts", Berdych "fast...

Re: Dubai SF: [2] Federer def. [LL] Coric 6-2 6-1

#2 beats #84 easily, pretty much as expected.

Coric was over-rated coming into this. Lost to Fabrice Martin in qualis, Baghdatis had a third set double-break lead before needing a MTO, Murray hit...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 6

Maybe bit harsh on Coric - he is only 18 after all. Maybe worth remembering he lost to the world #350 in quails, needed 3 sets vs Jaziri, only got past Baghdatis via retiral (Baghdatis was a double...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 6

Coric was 48%fs against Murray, and not an awful lot here.

1 winner Coric, which was an ace.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 6

Fed really is making a mess of this.

I wonder if a non-match yesterday has broken his tournament rhythm a bit.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 6

I suppose he's 1.13 against Gasquet. You never know, Fed does throw in more stinkers these days.

The Coric of today is no real threat against any top player though imo.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 6

Hard to see otherwise. Gasquet is really struggling on this surface - he said as much last night. Wasn't televised but apparently he was pretty irregular.

Was lucky to win his R1 also, Seppi had him...
