Re: Sam Querrey needs love off the court

Usually they reserve these shows for people who bear something resembling a personality (no matter how obnoxious).

Re: Any players other than Nadal to win a title defeating players of the host country

Didn't Soderling beat a bunch of Frenchies to win Paris one year?

Nope. His wins included Simon, Llodra, and Monfils in the finals. But he also beat Stan and Roddick (both of whom come close...

Re: Acapulco R1: [2] Ferrer d. Sijsling, 6-3 7-6(4)

I prefer the part where he won four straight points and evens the TB at 4-all but doesn't win another point. What a dud.

Re: The most beautiful 2-handed BH ever.

I thought it was funny too. Latso is a shameless Courier fan.

Re: WWW Davis Cup Canada vs. Japan (March 6-8)

No Nishioka? At the very least this could be great to boost his experience.

Re: The most beautiful 2-handed BH ever.

It's considered good technique to start the arms tucked on the two-hander because it helps relax the swing and thereby generate more racquet head speed. I'm not saying it's the only way to hit it...

Re: WWW Davis Cup: United States vs. Great Britain

Querrey had his chance last year against Ward at Petco and absolutely blew it. The guy is incapable of inspiring any confidence in his performance because it seems like, even if everything else is...

Re: The most beautiful 2-handed BH ever.

People expect little of Zverev because they're watching him, at 17 years old, compete at a level that he simply isn't ready for yet. Of course, that's his (camp's) fault; he shouldn't be accepting so...

Re: Federer trashes Davis Cup: ''It's been a big burden and caused many difficulties'

Please, this is tennis, not the Olympics. Players don't go into this looking to bear the weight of a nation.

There are so many mandatory events on the tour now that it's not like the old days, where...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 6

Haha, that framer from Berdych. Just as I thought he was playing himself into form.

Is Zverev's match being streamed?

Re: Is Rome the slowest clay court or Monte Carlo?

Monte Carlo, easily. I believe Rome plays a bit closer to a hard court in terms of the bounce. Historically, some less than stellar players on clay have managed to do relatively well there.

Re: Time for Nadal and Toni to hire Sampras as coach.

I would hope you had the feeling. Rafa flat out said once that the game played between Sampras and Ivanisevic was not tennis.

Was the thread with the article deleted? Could be merged.

I hope Bernardes chairs all of his matches.

Re: Marseille F: (5) Simon def. (7) Monfils 6-4 1-6 7-6(4)

Lol, what is Simon like 4-1 now against Monfils? or 5-1?

Where are you getting that he should have won?

Re: Top 10 Grasscourters of the last 20 years

First off, I said *some* of his success, and I wasn't referring to his 2011 victory.

But you are out of your mind if you think the Federer he played at Wimbley '14 was the arguable "grass GOAT" who...

Re: Sampras created the Goat that is Federer today

Then how come Hewitt et al. didn't take over after '03 when they were the ones who were actually winning titles at the time against literally the same opposition?

Delray Beach QF: Karlovic Def. Johnson 6-2, 7-6 (4)

Didn't see the match because of Fognini/Delbonis, but I can't imagine how badly Johnson must've been playing in that first set to drop 2 breaks against Ivo.

Johnson... :o Thanks for losing me dough.

Re: Best performances at slams

I'd take Fed blocking back to Roddick's shoelaces a 148 MPH serve up the T in a TB (iirc) over that backhand flicker he made off of a Roddick forehand jammed right up the middle of the court, for...

Re: Delray Beach QF: Young def Dolgopolov 2-6 6-3 6-4

Don won me some money here.

Dolgopolov stays in the negative this season while Young continues to rise.

Who the hell is his camp now? Cannot still be his parents, right?

Re: Best performances at slams

Idk why everyone, even and maybe especially Fedfans, point to AO '07 as one of his GOAT matches. Roddick was absolutely brainless in that match. He was asking for a clinic.

To me, Fed's straight...

Re: Most annoying service motion of all time

Ljubicic's, Hewitt's, and Ivanisevic's were always really fun for a lot of us junior players to imitate in the clinics. Probably because of how funny they looked.

Oh, and Mcenroe's can-opener too....
