Re: The Spanish Armada: Whose Style Do You Prefer?

Forehando from the poll options. Mugro is fun to watch too, especially when in a combo of absolutely crushing the ball and having on-court meltdowns he makes for highly entertaining viewing. like...

Re: Casablanca SF: Gimeno-Traver def. Vesely 6-7 (3) 6-4 6-4

DGT has taken sets off Djokovic, Murray, Berdych, Wawrinka (who hasn't?) and has victories over Gasquet, Lopez, Robredo, Kohli, Melzer (when top 10), Mugro, Davydenko. he also impressively lost to...

Re: Casablanca QF: Dzumhur def Haider-Maurer 6:3 6:3

AHM didn't turn up at all - open court miss at the end summed up his performance, although Dzumhur displayed a lot of excellent court craft and touch, especially in the first 4-5 games.

Re: Miami R2: Bellucci stuns (19) Cuevas 2-6 6-2 7-5

this was epic to watch, filled with tension and grit and moments of seriously quality tennis. MOTT for me so far, though only saw about a set of Dolgo-Boredo (which was great).

Re: Miami R1: Janowicz routines Roger-Vasselin 6-4 6-2

pretty much unplayable in the middle section of the match.

Re: Davis Cup WG R1: Ward def. Isner 5-7 6-7 6-3 7-6 15-13 [GB 2-0]

he was still clutch tbh - just outplayed. still saved 5 MPs with his usual big plays on big points (on his serve, obvs).

Re: The Curious Baffling Case of Fabio Fognini, sport psychologists enter

uh huh, this is the story of a billion nonsense Fabio matches in clay tourneys, it's pretty much the opitome of a routine Fog match :p

Re: Simon: 'If you ask my coach who has the most talent, Roger or Novak, he'll hesita

entertaining interview.

as for Lopez, he is a fantastic volleyer, which is one of the primary reasons for his success, together with the serve - whilst he often stays back (more so in points on the...

Re: Roman Safiullin def Jordan Thompson 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 in Challenger Tour Debut

yep, Chardy's a fairly classic example of an inconsistent ballbasher. serve + huge FH combo are still his go to play/main weaponry - lethal when on, playing cricket when off.

Re: Roman Safiullin def Jordan Thompson 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 in Challenger Tour Debut

well it's exaggerated, but that alone doesn't necessarily mean it's technically inefficient - look at how effective the FHs of Soderling, Del Potro, Chardy, Andreev, Acasuso and other players are...

Re: Roman Safiullin def Jordan Thompson 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 in Challenger Tour Debut

can definitely see Safiullin winning a lot of fans on here (and elsewhere) soon.

looks very promising + easy to watch.

Re: Djokovic may gain slams after he retires

yes, but that is the French before ITF declared anything as a 'major' tournament. that is history before tennis and its federations decided how they wanted to structure the tennis year - as you say,...

Re: Djokovic may gain slams after he retires

these are facts, not my personal opinion. i appreciate the fact there's a decent chance you are trolling, but any example of tournaments changing we'd consider even remotely "recent" in the history...

Re: Quito R1: Zeballos def. Krajicek 7-6(3) 6-4

as great a result as that would be, Vina del Mar exists no longer - this tourney is actually the calendar replacement.

Re: Djokovic may gain slams after he retires

major status would be made official from a certain date, like any tournament.

the four slams were considered "majors" from 1925 onwards. Wimbledon and the U.S. Championships were extremely important...
