Re: Tennis and the Revenge of Technological Revolution

Yes; a VERY common expression in this connection!
Only a couple of examples:

"That sounds like an excellent idea. Anyone who watched the Davis Cup tie between the USA and Croatia yesterday will...

Re: What the hell is with all these injuries?

Yes, tennis is at present perhaps the unhealthiest individual sport as to injuries. There are many reasons but I
would like to emphasize these points and advertise a better model for a tennis court...

Re: To slow down tennis and to speed it up at the same time!

You have good points! I have pondered those points, too. I even had before this kind of plan B:

At a first glance the 3-yard wide service court feels quite narrow, especially when standing on the...

Re: To slow down tennis and to speed it up at the same time!

But still you couldn't hold your serve with the smaller service box! Are you really sure that you really have tested that service court???? I am doubting at least little...

Re: To slow down tennis and to speed it up at the same time!

There are also different opinions..... Scott Murphy ( www.tennisone.com ):

Also Mark Miles (ATP chief) wants to change the court!

I am not the only one. Even Mark Miles (ATP chief) has a proposal of his own how to change the court:
"That will eventually impact on both the way we play and the geometry
of the court, because the...

Re: A Proposal For a New Tennis Court

Non-pro-players' lefty advantage in serving (because of the service courts!) is insignificant.
But on the pro level it is significant because
left-handers do get undeniable advantage of the fact...

Re: Re: A Proposal For a New Tennis Court

Furthermore I want to introduce the newest "big server". About two (2) pure aces per serving game. Guess who he is! And who's next?
To my mind it...

Re: Re: A Proposal For a New Tennis Court

I remember the first oversized rackets (Prince) over 20 years ago. THEY were really ridiculous! But time....... Oh well, those huge frames are ridiculous even today!
