Re: Wimbledon R3: [WC] Kudla d. Giraldo 6-2 6-7(3) 2-6 6-1 6-3

Great win for Kudla. I think grass is his best surface. I saw him a few years ago with his buddy Mitchell Frank, at the old Annandale, VA Sport and Health indoor tennis facility, practicing on New...

Re: WWW Wimbledon R3: Brown vs. Troicki

I Really hope Dustin wins this. Victor is solid, but has a somewhat ugly game aesthetically. One thing Victor has over Nadal is the serve. Brown will have a harder time breaking Victor than he did v....

Re: Can Dustin Brown win Wimbledon?

No. But he should be able to at least take care of Troicki next round.

Re: Wimbledon R2: [Q] Brown def. [10] Nadal, 7-5 3-6 6-4 6-4

Brown has always had a great game for grass. He really put it all together today. It was apparent early in the match that Nadal's only chance was to have a GOAT service day. He served pretty well,...

Re: Which performance against Nadal in Wimbly did you enjoy more?

Probably Rosol because beating Nadal at Wimbledon wasn't routine back then.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 18

cant believe Brown let that ball go on mp. Could that be a Derrick Rostagno/Boris Becker type moment?

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 18

Brown pulling a Sampras on last two return games. Marshalling his resources to try to get two more holds.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 18

Nadal's inside out forehand just isn't there when he needs it. It used to be such a clutch shot.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 18

This. Short points, making Nadal do most of the running. Dreddy ain't gonna run out of gas. He might choke, but not get physically exhausted.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 18

Nadal played a great game to break for the set. But, Dreddy needs to mix it up a little more. He should stay back once in awhile just to keep Nadal guessing. Nadal knows he's gonna serve and volley....

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 18

for me, it's a combo of liking Brown and loving upsets. I don't really dislike Nadal. Brown gets criticism at times because of brainless play. He can be really good or really bad. He never plays...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 18

Nadal is going to have to serve lights out the rest of the way and that still might not be enough. Brown is outplaying him, making him run with countless drop shots, mixing his returns between all...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 18

If Rosol and Darcis could do it, why not Brown? Also, he beat Nadal on grass at Halle, so he's got to be confident. I once saw Brown blow away Sam Querrey, who's not a bad grass courter, at Newport....

Re: Which matches were you last a crowd member of?

the last match I have seen live is Paul-Henri Mathieu v. Giles Muller at the U.S. Open. Unfortuanely, I had to leave after the 3rd set to catch the train back home.

Re: Philippoussis is going to play in Newport Qualies!

He must have truly run out of money. That said, if he still has a massive serve he may qualify.

Re: Wimbledon qualifying - Round 3

PHM had his chances. Couldn't convert the bp at 4-4 in the final set after winning three games in a row from 1-4.

Re: Wimbledon qualifying - Round 3

the five set final round qualifying format leaves ample opportunities for muggery/choking from both guys :Din this one. And I am a PHM fan.

In the one match they have played, PHM squeeked by via...
