Re: Barcelona R1: #329 17 yo Andrey Rublev def. Verdasco 7-6, 6-3

He showed some nice slices in the second set, albeit exclusively defensive ones from what I recall. The touch is there though so he should be able to integrate them into his overall game and not just...

Re: Barcelona R1: #329 17 yo Andrey Rublev def. Verdasco 7-6, 6-3

Wow, he could be a real threat by the time he hits 20 and starts getting stronger, assuming he maintains his focus.

Re: Toni Nadal speaks:"bad time..Nadal's mental gone..not agressive..will play until

Nadal has clearly been brain farting far too often. He looks fine and then any tight moment and he starts making terrible decisions. I think his OCD is more of an issue the older he gets.

Re: Miami R4: [22] Isner def. [5] Raonic, 6-7(3) 7-6(6) 7-6(5)

I really can't stand Isner for multiple reasons, including his style of tennis and his personality, however I have to give him credit for the way he is getting his shit together right now. He could...

Re: Miami R3: [26] Verdasco def. [2] Nadal 6-4 2-6 6-3

Indecision and brain farts all around. He needs to get his shit together.

Re: Miami R3: [26] Verdasco def. [2] Nadal 6-4 2-6 6-3

As Nadal gets older he seems more vulnerable to confidence issues. I don't think there is anything physical going on, he is just not the same fearless free-swinging kid he used to be. He sees the...

Re: Does any player have a worse two handed backhand than Jack Sock?

It is flawed and vulnerable in certain ways but he can also do some very effective things with it. It's far from being one of the worst.

Re: Does any player have a worse two handed backhand than Jack Sock?

Harrison's is barely better. I don't know what it is with Americans and bad two handed backhands (let's not forget Roddick).

Re: Indian Wells R4: [3] Nadal def. [13] Simon 6-2 6-4

Nadal is just sort of coasting by. He's not convincing but he's getting the job done. I feel like he's lacking the intensity he shows when he is playing well. He still looks like he's trying to find...

Re: IW R2: [3] Nadal def. Sijsling 6-4 6-2

Nadal was still leaving a noticeable number of balls too short. He can't expect to keep getting away with that.

Re: IW R2: Donald Young def. Jeremy Chardy 6-4 6-2

Chardy pretty much folded in the second once he fell behind.

Donald is having another one of his little career stretches where things seem to be clicking pretty well for him at the moment. We've...

Re: Acapulco QF: [Q] Harrison def. [6] Karlovic 4-6 7-6 (0) 7-6 (4)

Yeah Harrison looks clearly improved. Credit to him for making whatever changes he made. It seems Doyle as a coach is a good fit for him.

His game seems to have limited upside but at least he's...

Re: Get well soon, Roger

He was complaining about the shadows in his presser.

Re: AO R3 : Seppi def. Federer 6-4 7-6(5) 4-6 7-6(5)

Fed fans complaining about Nadal fans gloating. That's rich.

Get a grip. This entire forum is based on both sides torquing each other at every opportunity.

Re: AO R3 : Seppi def. Federer 6-4 7-6(5) 4-6 7-6(5)

Well that can't be good for Federer's confidence.

Re: Del Potro will play Sydney and Australian Open.

This does not sound very promising for Del Potro. Hopefully he's able to recover and smash the ball again.

Re: Lleyton Hewitt Retirement Speculation

My guess is that he struggles through this season and retires at the 2016 AO.

Re: Borna Coric : "At the moment I am the best player of my generation"

Prissy preparation? I am assuming that is a bad translation?

I have no problem with the confidence though. I don't think you reach the top without thinking you can.

Re: Most beautiful service motion to watch

Sampras easily. Federer is pretty close but the follow through is clumsy looking by comparison. That is probably related to the fact that Federer is usually resetting himself immediately at the...

Re: Who is better at returning big serves: Djokovic or Federer?

Good point. The ability to read specific big servers varies amongst players.

Re: Who is better at returning big serves: Djokovic or Federer?

Peak Federer was better at consistently getting big serves back into play to a neutral position from which he could then usually win the point by being better off the ground. Djokovic is better at...

Re: Federer on Cilic Suspension: I am fine with it

It is definitely an interesting quote from Federer.
