Re: Who is the most aesthetically pleasing player ever ? (in terms of game)

Re: How do YOU select the players you support?

I'm surpised at how few votes "Entertainment Value" is getting. Spectator sports are great forms of entertainment after all. A huge reason I adore Marat Safin and love Novak Djokovic is because these...

Re: How do YOU select the players you support?

Everything except Success, Nationality, and Good Looks.

Because a player with good talent/style/attitude is bound to be successful (unless something tragic happens); because the nations I come from...

Re: Sampras loses trophies in robbery

What I keep wondering is, why does he keep his first AO trophy apart from his other GS trophies, but together with the other ones?

Re: Clay Court Rankings for 2010

It would be more persuasive if you modeled your ranking after Wimbledon's Grass Court Rankings (i.e. take last year into account as well).

Re: Who has the best overall Serve in the Top 50?

We are talking about serves, not service games. These two are entirely different matters. Serve is just one shot. The classic example is Ivanišević.

Paul Annacone: Is He Doing a Good Job?

I get the impression that Paul Annacone has brought substantial changes to Federer's game. The volleys certainly improved a lot, especially the drop volleys. There are more flat serves. More...

Re: Tomorrow's final: Soo much at Stake

Every one of their matches except the first 2 or 3 has apocalyptic importance, given who they are. But they might be routine for Federer and Nadal, though, especially this one.

Re: Who Has The Better Forehand? Murray or Djokovic?

Murray has a better forehand pass, mainly because he has better movement at the baseline - not better speed or footwork per se, but better tactical sense and precognition while under pressure. This...

Re: Name your 3 favorite crowds on tour

Wimbledon
Wimbledon
Wimbledon

I prefer silent/polite crowds. The more silent, the better. I want to hear every dropshot.

Re: WWW Shanghai Rolex Masters 1000 Winner

Murray comes from Glasgow, which is technically part of the Scottish Lowlands.

Re: Shanghai R3: Melzer def. Nadal 6-1 3-6 6-3

When's the last time Rafael lost to a left-hander?

Re: Just how often do top players lose a match?

Connors started on the tour relatively late. He also played a lot of smaller tournaments late in his career.

Borg, Nadal are prodigies who matured early.

The most impressive number is Lendl's.

Re: Bjorkman: Difference between Fed-Nadal is that Federer is such a great ambassador

Apparently many posters in this thread were not born when Bjorkman started on the ATP tour. The guy is quite entertaining to watch in doubles and quite an entertaining character as well.

But even if...

Re: Is Del Potro the new Nalbandian of MTF?

Funny. IMHO Del Potro is the extreme opposite of Chang in terms of play style. That doesn't prevent them from achieving similar results, though.

Re: Clay Warrior King's Limitations

Re: Who is the most tactically smart player on tour?

Clay courts => longer rallies => more time to think about tactics. It helps to grow up on clay courts. American players grow up on hardcourts, where the only tactics they learn is hit as hard as...

Re: Poll: Is a slam a slam?

AO > RG > WIM > USO

In terms of prize money, if I am not mistaken. But they're more or less the same.

The really modest would be indifferent to material luxury, not avoid them like some terrible disease.

Re: 2011 Australian Open Outright Odds

I'd like to remind us here that the odds given by betting agencies take into account not only how players will perform, but also how people who really bet money will place their bets.

So if Djokovic...

Re: Poll: How many extra slams is a Career grand slam worth on average?

Very interesting idea. I like it.

I think the number is around 1, maybe even less. Especially when in the earlier parts of the Open Era when most or all Slams are played on grass.

Agassi is famous...
