Re: What's the greatest/best movie you've ever seen?

The Fellowship of the Ring is my personal favourite. I rarely watch films in one go unless I'm actually at the cinema.

Re: EU Commission: CETA should be approved by national parliaments

There are going to be some eyes out on stalks in the UK Parliament.

Re: Who is the greatest football player ever ?

In some senses it highlights the short-sightedness of judging team achievements purely by titles as Portugal won with Ronaldo off the pitch. If they had lost, Ronaldo as a player has done nothing...

Re: ISIS' Turkey airport attack: 28 killed in explosions at Istanbul Atatürk

Sadness and anger. What a violent, unreasoning ideology.

Re: Euro 2016

Hopefully the new manager will have the balls to make Butland/Forster the top two choices for Goalkeeper. And that isn't just a reaction to yesterday's result - which I'm not actually very bothered...

Re: Lionel Messi retires from international football

I think this is just a way to give up the captaincy. I'd be very surprised if he isn't at the next World Cup, fitness permitting.

Re: Euro 2016

Were the Belgian fans singing "please don't take me home"?

Proof of the importance of Europe for English exports.

Re: Euro 2016

The away goal would need to count between the 35th and 52nd minute, otherwise we'd have to introduce mandatory Throw-in shootouts.

Re: Euro 2016

I think there should be a 27 team draw with four groups of six and one group of three but two of the groups of six get put together to make a group of twelve which is then subdivided into two groups...

Re: Euro 2016

I can't help feeling that Perisic's haircut is going to result in something ironic happening. He'll get sent off.

I'm suddenly feeling very optimistic for Portugal. Mind you, Pepe hasn't imploded...

Re: Euro 2016

I did some checking and he's some way off the record for Premier League own goals, he has 5 whilst Richard Dunne has 10. However McAuley also played in the Championship for several years, and scored...

Re: Euro 2016

I've never known a player to score as many own goals as Gareth McAuley.

Re: Euro 2016

Poles ran to celebrate in front of the Swiss fans.

Good quality shootout though.

Re: Euro 2016

Social media completely overreacting to Schar's challenge. It was late but not malicious. Lead foot low and rear foot tucked.

Re: Euro 2016

That's not the same thing as being shit. He was dynamic and effective at Euro 2004 and the 2006 World Cup, he dragged his team to the Semi finals in 2012 with a couple of great performances and was...

Re: Euro 2016

For some reason I'm finding that game incredibly difficult to call. I make Croatia favourites because they have the stronger side overall, slightly more rest and clearly won't be intimidated. But...

Re: "BREXIT" - decision day

The same thing would be true if we voted remain though. If it was true control everyone would be educated enough in the issues at hand and simply need exposure to the information in order to make a...

Re: "BREXIT" - decision day

Yes the oil issue is quite a big one, any future referendum will have to address such things as the hysteria of this result dies down. I must admit I'm not that clued in to the specifics of the...

Re: "BREXIT" - decision day

Rough figures.
46 million eligible voters
17.4 million voted to change the UK's status.
16.1 million voted to retain the UK's status.
12.5 million or so didn't vote for either.

Spin these...
