Re: Roland Garros R1: Ernests Gulbis def. Lukasz Kubot 4-6 6-4 7-5 6-1

For lower ranked players the 1st round of a GS event might be their most important start of the season, while Gulbis is just cruising past everyone since Nice.

And it really did look like Gulbis...

Re: Nice F: [2] Gulbis def. [7] Delbonis 6-1 7-6(5)

Yup, that's the thing with Gulbis - he has been absolutely atrocious at Grand Slams so far. The only exception really was his first ever GS. :)

Even if he could consistently make just the 3rd/4th...

Re: Why is Gulbis so popular here?

You're not asking the right questions.

Gulbis hasn't reached his peak yet. He was sloppy and unmotivated earlier in his career. He has made great strides in this respect. He's consistent now,...

Re: Indian Wells R4: Gulbis def RBA 7/6 4/6 6/2

Easy win for Gulbis.

Isner/Verdasco next, so most likely Gulbis v3 will finally meet Djokovic for the first time. What an exciting match that is going to be. The real final.

Re: Why is Gulbis so popular here?

His BH is probably the best on tour.

Why is he so popular - because he's one of the most talented active tennis players on this planet.

Re: Indian Wells R3: Gulbis def Dimitrov 2-6 6-1 7-5

That's exactly what I was talking about. :) There are a lot of fanboys/girls here, who obviously don't realize that it works both ways. It's not all about your favorite player, you know. Just because...

Re: Indian Wells R3: Gulbis def Dimitrov 2-6 6-1 7-5

The match could have been over in 2 sets if Gulbis hadn't lost his concentration in the 1st set, which probably was his worst set in a long while.

Re: Indian Wells R3: Gulbis def Dimitrov 2-6 6-1 7-5

It's funny, because it was actually filmed in Bulgaria.

Re: Indian Wells Round of 16: "Princess" Bautista-Agut vs. Gulbis

Well, it's not going to be as one-sided as a match between Dutra da Silva vs. Djokovic, but there's a clear favorite in this matchup, so it's definitely not 'very even'. 70:30 according to bookies.

Re: WWW Acapulco QF: Gulbis vs. Dimitrov

'Never biased', yet you claimed Dimitrov is in a better form than Gulbis. Great stuff.

Gulbis hasn't been playing this good on a daily basis in his entire life. His consistency, improved mental...

The title is now on Gulbis's racquet.

Re: WWW Acapulco QF: Gulbis vs. Dimitrov

Gulbis clearly is the better player. Gulbis in 2.

Re: Acapulco R2: Gulbis d. Goffin 6-1, 3-6, 7-6(5)

Returning to his old forehand is one of the main reasons why he's playing better now.

Re: International Premier Tennis League: What's MTF's Verdict - Yay or Nay?

Stopped reading at 'equivalent of cricket's 20/20 product'.

No idea what you're talking about. No idea why would anyone really care about an off-season tournament.

Re: Winter Olympic Games 2014

Nope, they looked at the replay again after the Canadians said that the Latvian player was holding the puck in the crease.

There was no other reason to look at it again.

Re: Winter Olympic Games 2014

Too bad the Russians dominated the sliding sports by cheating.

The speed and the time didn't match (Zubkov's speed in some of the intervals was up to 6km/h slower, yet his time was among the best,...
