Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

^Yeah, I thought the fact he was qualifying for challengers was good, let alone winning challengers  There are only three players younger than Max ahead of him in the rankings now - Duckhee Lee,...

Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

Whittington beats Zhe Li 6-1 7-6(3) to make the final against Purcell. I wonder if he remember what it feels like to lose? Tomorrow he will be going for his 20th straight win and four titles in a...

Re: Aussies in ATP Events

Former Australian Akira Santillan scored a wildcard into Kitzbuhel this week but lost 6-2 6-2 to Struff. Santillan is ranked 295, last time I checked he was still around 800

Re: Alex Bolt

Wow   That seems to have come from nowhere. The results hadn't really been coming lately but he certainly showed glimpses of potential, especially in that Chinese challenger a few years...

Re: Rio Olympics

Off rankings, I guess Thompson could be the only replacement. I have no idea about the eligibility though. I really hope Thanasi is ready for it though :yeah:

Re: The return....Thanasi's recovery

He hasn't signed up for any other tournaments past Newport has he? Now we don't even have a date to countdown to

I guess it's good he isn't rushing back though, other players have done that and it...

Re: Wimbledon 2016

Saville hasn't been convincing in any of his matches but he just keeps on winning them  He probably got the best placement of the qualifiers too

It'd be great if Barton could win his match too

Re: Wimbledon 2016

Matthew Barton v [32] Marco Trungelliti
JP Smith v [22] Austin Krajicek
Luke Saville v Oriol Roca Batalla
James Duckworth v [25] Kenny De Schepper

The first three should fancy their chances,...

Re: Wimbledon 2016

Who cares. This is the first slam that Thompson has made the singles main draw off his own ranking, I highly doubt he was desperate to score a main draw berth in the doubles.

Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

This week Whittington won his fifth title of the year, going back to back in Hong Kong. His ranking is now approaching the top 250.

Meanwhile there is an all-Australian final in Mozambique of all...

Re: Wimbledon 2016

What the hell, how much longer will this go on for? He already had his farewell tour all of last year, it feels like he's doing it all over again this year. What are the chances he'll enter something...

Re: The return....Thanasi's recovery

Hmmm, maybe he felt that Queens and Wimbledon would be too full on for his comeback tournaments and that's why he withdrew? That would be better news for his injury, and yes, make a lot more sense.

Wimbledon 2016

Just over two weeks until the third slam of the year starts. Wimbledon should be our most successful slam of the year for a number of reasons.

Two former quarter finalists and a junior champion...

Re: Roland Garros 2016

That's good that Thompson got a win in a slam. It's still early days in his career but it'll feel nice to get one on the board so it won't play on his mind like with Matosevic. He should fancy his...

Re: Roland Garros 2016

Groth v Nadal is such a mismatch. In his current form Groth would struggle to beat anyone in the main draw, plus it's his worst surface clay, and in addition to that he just happens to draw the...

Re: Roland Garros 2016

Barton d Ramanathan 6-3 6-3
Struff d Mitchell 6-7(2) 6-4 6-3
Li d Saville 7-5 7-5

Fairly expected results really, although Mitchell did better than a lot of us would have thought. Barton has...

Re: The return....Thanasi's recovery

Hopefully he is just waiting until it's absolutely 100% before he makes his comeback. But his first tournament back is getting further and further away, wasn't the first target Indian Wells and Miami?
