Re: Vicenza 15k Futures R2: Dusan Lajovic (q) Def. Bernard Tomic (6, WC) 6-1 6-4

Don't forget Kontinens great performances in Davis Cup events. Besides, he and Del Bonis are about same age, Henkka is just 4 months older.

Re: Fastest climbers in 2009

Thanks for the list. Couple of oddities however.

From Top 10 movers list:
2. Morgan Phillips (GBR) #1440 to #432 = 1440 positions
3. Aljaz Bedene (SLO) #1361 to #304 = 1361 positions

Should be 1008...

Re: Poll: Who is the least talanted player to have ever reached a grand slam final?

Artur Ashe. US-open arena is named after him so, there are obviously some people which don't consider him terrible.

Re: Poll: Who is the least talanted player to have ever reached a grand slam final?

Yes, it has to be him!

Is it even possible to have lower high rank after grand slam final? There has to be some amount of points in pack to even get to draw.

Re: Poll: Who is the least talanted player to have ever reached a grand slam final?

Statistically this is pretty easy to define:

Worst ever player which has reached Grand Slam final is one which has lowest high-ranking during his career.

Chris Lewis has high rank of 19. Is there...

Re: Poll: Who is the least talanted player to have ever reached a grand slam final?

No contest, Chris Lewis was in Wimbledon final against McEnroe in year 1983 as unseeded player. A very big upset at that time. Still had no chances with John McEnroe.

Re: Fastest climbers in 2009

No contest. Henkka will win this convinsibly.

Has there ever been anyone else who has succeeded to increase his/her ranking more than 1500 positions within a year?

Re: The new GOAT is....

Henri Kontinen has increased his rank from 1823 to 288 in 2009, that is 1535 positions within a year.
Has there ever been any player achieving as huge leap in rankings as fast?

Re: How can Federer be considered "the best ever" is everybody else is such a clown?

Re: Poll: Who is the most dominant sportsman of all times?

Paavo Nurmi absolutely over Zatopek.

But what about squash-player Jahangir Khan who was unbeatable ten years.

Re: This year's biggest choke in Wimbledon

Are you serious?

The higher ranking of Jarkko is not coincidence. He is just more complete and more versatile player compared to Tursunov. In addition Jarkko leads H2H against him now 3-0.

Re: Who will win? Davydenko or Nieminen

As happened.
Jarkko today would have lost even to Anna Kournikova.

Re: davydenko def. neiminen 6-1 6-3

Davydenko was solid but Jarkko's performance was miserable. I haven't seen this bad Nieminen for a long time.

Re: Who will win? Davydenko or Nieminen

Contrary to common assumptions encountered here in forums Nieminen has always been better at clay than on hardcourts. Therefore I have no doupts who of those two has advantage in the evening.
