Re: Toronto QF: Dimitrov def Kanderson 5-7 7-5 7-6(6) with help from Anderson

Kudos to Anderson for not laying in fetal position on the middle of the court after this.

Re: When was the last time 15 year old kid played in 2nd round of GS??

Aaron Krickstein got to R4 just a few weeks into his 16 in USO 1983 (beating a young Edberg and Gerulaitis in the process), and he usually holds this "youngest player to" records.

I remember...

Re: Why is tennis such a young men sport?

Physically tennis is an uneasy sport. In football, basketball, etc. practicing the sport wont do the your body any damage (excluding injuries from contact), while in tennis you develop some chronic...

Re: Most Masters titles without a slam - Murray in a league of his own

While he is an agressive player there is nothing overly risky about his game, which makes him a "conservative ballbasher" as Rocketassist says.

Re: Most Masters titles without a slam - Murray in a league of his own

To be fair, Nadal and Djokovic had to beat Federer in the semis.

I still believe Murray will get one.

Re: Montreal SF: Djokovic "defeats" Tsonga, 6-4, 3-0 RET

Re: Hamburg F: Simon def Almagro 6-4, 4-6, 6-4

People bitching about Simon winning a 500, do you remember he got to a M1000 final and Masters semi?
Congrat Gilles, my favourite pusher :yeah:

Re: Copa America Football Thread

Invented foul and uncalled offside before but whatever.
Suarez put his hand, Gyan missed the penalty.

On topic, I think Venezuela deserved the win.

Re: Stamina or talent? what is more important

The thing with stamina is that you can't underperform it. Talent is always measured at your very best and only few players can play near their talent mark consistently. OTH stamina plays at a fixed...

Re: Copa America Football Thread

 Even Arevalo Rios said they were expecting Perez to be sent off. We were all asking for the substitution. But it worked so

Muslera can have matches like this but is not very...

Re: Who got the harder draw?

Murray on paper. Not only the hardest but also packed with players that have probed to be a challenge to him at slams (Cilic, Gasquet, Wawa, Roddick).

Re: Do you think draws are ever rigged?

The thing it that it DOES make things more suspicious. I mean it's still can be 100% true, but it does make things more suspicious.

Re: Do you think draws are ever rigged?

I think people do understand the concept of 'independent chances', but some of the Binomial results in the latest GS are deeply unprobable.

As we can't do infinite successes to prove that a draw is...

Re: Is no one else capable of winning and stopping this 4 man race?

I don't think the problem is it being a 4 man race but the whole "Djokovic&Nadal def Federer&Murray; Djokovic def Nadal" thing, and I say this as a Djokovic fan. If every match within the top 4 (or...

Re: RG 3R: JI Chela stops Rosol (Q) run, 6-2 6-4 3-6 7-6(5)

Rosol was playing closer to Chela's baseline than Chela himself.

Re: 2011 Roland Garros Livescoring / Commentary Thread

You could've said the same about Djokovic last year
I don't like him, but I'm sure DelPo will find his way.

Re: Roland Garros Rd3 Federer dispatches Tipsarevic 6-1,6-4,6-3

Refreshing to see the BH working decently. Stan should be a test for Fed's baseline game which seems to be better than previously.

Re: Has the career grand slam been cheapened?

Somehow it has but think about this:

McEnroe won both Wimbledon and USO, reached the final of RG once and didn't win AO, arguably, because he played it only twice during his prime.
Edberg: Won all...

Re: RG R1: Berlocq def. Tomic 7-5 6-4 6-2

I agree Tomic is a waste of a WC, but has Australia any player who could've won a match here? I'm thinking Luczak maybe but he's 31
