Re: When was the last time you felt Fed oozing confidence in this manner?

maybe like 2012. He had some really strong periods of tennis then and at Wimbledon looked highly confident. Obviously with a start like this though if he continues winning it will be comparable with...

Re: Miami Masters R16: [16]A.Zverev def. [1]S.Wawrinka 4-6 6-2 6-1

I wouldn't get too carried away, it's Wawrinka at a Master 1000.... he gets upset regularly. If a Zverev or Kyrgios would actually make it through a Masters draw and WIN the tournament then I'd...

Re: WWW Miami QF: Nadal vs Sock

Nadal in a tight two sets (not sure why that is not an option). Nadal in a 'comfortable 2' is far less likely than Nadal in a tight 2 sets, especially against a guy with a huge serve and forehand

Re: Rio Masters 1000 in 2019 or 2020??

no way does Rio replace Miami imo, I seriously doubt they can draw in equivalent funding. Not to mention the history of the Miami tournament. I'd be verryyyy surprised if Miami disappears at all

Re: Strongest Era ever?

weak era outside of a few good players. The issue is that although the top 4 are indeed GREAT, they also have had a lot of their careers easy because they have faced so FEW specialists on surfaces....

Re: Miami 3R: Mannarino def. Coric 6-4 2-6 7-6(3)

the tattoo is hilarious, talk about a short sighted thing to get. even if he had become some sort of tennis anamoly and was destined to be a top player- it would have still been a dumb tattoo. But...

Re: ATP Miami R3: R. Federer def. J.M. Del Potro 6-3 6-4

I mean Dubai is sort of irrelevant next to Grand Slams / Master 1000's. He is kind of having a perfect season so far, in terms of wins and momentum. Certainly just about as good as you can expect a...

Re: Court Speed Index (CPI) of Miami

I'm insanely skeptical of these numbers/graphs, Cincinatti is almost universally described as one of the fastest Master 1000 tournaments by the players year after year. Unless there was some overhaul...

Re: ATP Miami: D. Schwartzman def. D. Ferrer 6-2 6-3

these last 12 months or so have been rough for Ferrer. Shadow of his former self, not shocking when he's in his mid 30s and his game relied heavily on out maneuvering opponents and outlasting them...

Re: Big 4's records when winning despite losing the same or more points than their ri

still despite the bagels both players remained close to a 50% balance in points. Interesting. I would have thought there would be some dramatic situation where a player won only like 40% of the...

Re: Big 4's records when winning despite losing the same or more points than their ri

interesting how (based on the Nadal data) IF a player does win a match, despite losing more points than their opponent, that the percentage difference is usually no more than 1%. Pretty constant set...

how the hell does Karlovic only have a 50% win ratio in final set tiebreaks? shocking

Re: Miami R2: Pella def. Dimitrov 6-3 7-6(4)

jesus those new matchfacts are hard for a quick glance and read. Still don't know what they were thinking, its going to be jibberish glancing at those bizarrely laid out charts for a casual tennis...

Re: Fed, Nole, Nadal, Murray fanbase question

come on OP, don't approach these things in such a simple way. You're obviously aware after a few minutes of looking on ANY tennis discussion forum that plenty of people support multiple of the top 4....

Re: Which is the most emotional victory for Rafa fans?

2013 US Open final

the way Nadal fought in that third set when Novak had all the momentum was beautiful :worship:

Re: Was there something wrong with Nadal in IW?

I think A) Nadal wasn't in particularly great form and B) debatably Nadal plays better on quicker hard court now than slower (and the Australian Open being sped up this year and him making the final...

Re: Can we be serious? Top 4 athletes ever (yes, tennis topic)

do you really think that's accurate though? whats it based on? google trends? because I find it hard to believe that worldwide TABLE TENNIS (ping pong) is more popular than basketball and baseball....

Re: Who will be the YE Top Five??

Nishikori and Raonic will drop rankings I think, they just don't EVER win big titles

probably the top 5 will be a call back to a few years back, the Big 4 + Wawrinka

Re: Is John McEnroe more naturally talented than Federer?

No
but McEnroe is and was very talented. Watching him play at like 60 is astounding because he regularly beats like 40 year olds on the 'legends' tour. Guy is aging gracefullly as far as the tennis...

Re: Uncle Toni opens up on whether he's had discussions/arguments with RAFA

Nadal acts like a child? by being polite on court 24/7 and never talking smack in interviews after losses except to say "the other player was better". Sorry but I highly doubt you're any more mature...

Re: Uncle Toni opens up on whether he's had discussions/arguments with RAFA

I think you're exaggerating it quite a bit there

there's no implication whatsoever that it has any bearing on Nadal's development, personal or otherwise. Its pretty simple- Nadal respects his...

Re: Should Federer tank the clay court season and prepare for Wimbledon instead?

if anything you have it opposite- at this point his legacy as debatably the best ever Grass/HC player is mostly cemented. Clay however- that's where his resume could use slightly more padding. Great...

Re: Can we be serious? Top 4 athletes ever (yes, tennis topic)

considering Roger's performance for almost two decades now on the tennis court (he came onto the scene in like 98' I think?), definitely he's in the top 5 or 10 of all time for athletes and...
