Re: And there's the proof: Nadal would have been decimated in 2011

Actually, Nadal in 2011 was pretty similar to 2015 Nadal.

He got taken to 5 sets by Isner! Plus all those losses in the masters to Novak, he also started slow in the final and Fed had a 5-2 lead in...

Re: Djokovic now 8-8 in slam finals

At this years Roland Garros, the losing finalist got 450 000 Euro more than the two losing semi finalists.

Times that by eight and you make 3.6 million Euro more by losing in the final eight times...

Re: Djokovic now 8-8 in slam finals

I'm too lazy to do the math, but take all of the slam finals djokovic lost, and replace it with an arbitary number of semi finals and quarter finals losses instead,

How much worse off financially...

Re: Who else out of Tsonga, Wawrinka, Murray, Ferrer, Fed and Kei would have beat Nad

Perhaps, but out of all those QF's excluding Djokovic and Wawrinka, only he, Murray and Federer have actually ever beaten Nadal on clay at all. Surely that has to count for something. Kei had his...

Who else out of Tsonga, Wawrinka, Murray, Ferrer, Fed and Kei would have beat Nadal?

There was a lot of talk after 2013 that the SF was the final, and no doubt had Novak won today the same talk would have gone on about the QF, though this year I think others could have beaten Nadal...

Re: Will Novak be remembered for blowing the big one?

2013 was a better chance than 2015, he should have won, would have certainly routined Ferrer in the final.

Re: Will Novak be remembered for blowing the big one?

Novaks legacy may well end up now the greatest player to never win the career slam. He may not get to Sampras 14 slam mark but jeez he was far closer to RG than Sampy ever was.

:( for Nole.

Conditions had a lot to do with Soderling beating Nadal at RG in 2009

The 2015 Djokovic Nadal QF was supposed to be cool conditions right from the start, but the sun was out and it was hot and Nadal was going neck and neck with Djokovic for a long time from 4-2 in that...

Why do players who beat Nadal in BO3 struggle to even get a set off him in BO5 sets?

People often cite that best of 5 sets is a "different beast altogether" in tennis terms compared to best of 3 sets format, and that explains why players who have for years got the odd straight sets...

Re: Would you date a woman with kids from a previous relationship?

I dunno, my ex gf had had a kid and she was tighter than a lot who haven't, staying in shape and doing your exercises has a lot to do with it I think

Would you date a woman with kids from a previous relationship?

If so, why or why not if not.

I ask the gender only this way around because it's my view that it's a vastly different challenge MOST of the time being a step dad as to a step mum (unless he is a...

Does losing a set 6-7 and blowing several set points hurt more than losing a set 0-6?

I've never played tennis at a high level but I know when I play billiards for example, losing a game off the break and never even sinking a ball, it was a lot easier to move on from, as you never...

Re: When do you see Federer get tired?

Murphy 2013 AO semi is the only real time.

But most of the losses people are talking about was after the age of 28. Peak Fed 2003-2008 never got tired, apart from the mono at AO 2008 maybe.

2005...

Re: Who is the biggest Gutless Choker on tour?

Dimitrov would have to be up there after that pathetic tiebreak against Nadal 2014 AO QF.

That was a gutless, useless, beyond pathetic choke. Worlds coulnd't even describe.

Re: What kind of relationship do you have with your parents?

Good relationship, well must be as I still live under their roof at 25. Neither of my sisters would be able to though they still get on well enough, it's just they clash and argue too much about the...

Prenuptial Agreements

How does MTF see these? Anyone in a relationship or married and have one? Anyone been asked to sign one and objected? I've never asked someone to sign one but my one long term girlfriend told me off...

Re: Who is the FOAT (fittest player of all time)?

2007 Wimbledon final, who ran out of gas in set 5, with a break point and all the momentum? Wasn't Federer.

That version of Federer wasn't as fit as 2004-2006 peak Fed anyway.

Peak Federer =...

Re: Who is the FOAT (fittest player of all time)?

Fed was so good at his peak he very seldomly got taken to 5 sets.

But when he did, he won most that counted, and very few looked due to fatigue to me.

Breakdown of Federer's 5 set record at majors...

Re: Who is the FOAT (fittest player of all time)?

The reason I put Federer in the poll is because he actually takes 20 seconds between points.

Nadal and Djokovic fitness is harder to assess and comapre because they routinely get half as much more...

Who is the FOAT (fittest player of all time)?

For me it's Federer for sure, it was just insane how many tough 5 set semi finals he played at his peak and post peak years to be fresh as a daisy in the final, every other player on tour I have...

Re: Servebots are bad for tennis.

The only thing I find annoying about Raonic is he moves around like some sort of Robot. He looks like a dork on court. The only "bot" about him is not the serve but rather lack of any...

Starting to see Nishikori as a flash in the pan now, doubt he will ever win a slam

To me he is a Simon/Nalbandian/Gasquet/Gulbis/Monfis/Tipsaravec/Haas level player who just got very lucky in a few 5 set matches when the draw opened up for him in US Open 2014, yes he did well at...

I feel some athletes moreso than others. I always felt Novak was flying the flag of Serbia a lot more than Federer for Switzerland..though I guess maybe because of economic factors or the swiss being...

Is a tennis player representing their country every time they step on court?

Obviously in Davis Cup and Olympic games they are, but I mean in a wider sense every time they take the court on the ATP tour for slams, masters and so on.

I know tennis is an individual sport that...

Re: Mark my given words, Rafael Nadal will not reach the second week of AO 2015,MARK

No he wouldn't have. Didn't you see Fercrapsco at AO 2009 and USO 2010? He'd have shit his pants if he even got close.

The rest of the mugs bar Bagdahtis probably would also have crapped their pants...
