Re: Madrid Final: Murray def Nadal 6-3 6-2

Nadal's decline once he reached this age was expected, but has been taking place so fast nevertheless. At RG best of 5 will help him a lot, but for once it's looking like it might not be enough.

Re: Madrid R2: Nadal def. Johnson 6-4, 6-3

Nadal outwinnered even in a routine win over a hopeless scrub. What else is new.

Re: Millenium Estoril Open officially presented (Will change its name and venue)

Which means goodbye for me.

The venue at Jamor had many flaws and wasn't very spectator friendly as a whole (terribly windy, parking was way too distant from the entrance gates, the venue in some...

Re: Wimbledon R4: Kyrgios def. Nadal 76(5) 57 76(5) 63

This is the way ALL of Rafito's English Open runs should have ended - outserved and outhit by a player who, whatever his limitations may be, actually has a big, serve-centric game suited to this...

Re: Rome F: Novak Djokovic def. Rafa Nadal 4-6, 6-3, 6-3

Good result for the game.

Rafito was basically bullshitting his way to wins by outlasting his opponents on nearly every round of this tournament. Good that he couldn't get away with it again in the...

Re: Rome SF: [1] Nadal laughs past [12] Dimitrov 6-2 6-2

Remarkable that Rafito still gets outwinnered in a match like this.

Re: Oeiras Final: Berlocq defeats [1] Berdych 0-6 7-5 6-1

Now that I've seen THE WARLOCQ in all His glory, now that I've had the chance to witness live and in colour His dazzling display of unbridled power, textbook smooth technique and silky touch, I'm...

Fighting for the RU bauble.

The correct answer is "Who cares?"

Re: AO R1: Nadal def. Tomic 6-4 ret.

Lulz - the media had been doing nothing but hyping this non-event to high heavens for days now.

This isn't even unusual or noteworthy.

Re: WTF F: Novak Djokovic defeats Rafael Nadal 2:0 (6-3, 6-4)

Anticlimactic and poorly played.

But the better tennis player won.

Re: Wimbledon R1: Steve Darcis def. [5] Rafael Nadal 7-6 (4) 7-6 (8) 6-4

Mr. Parera has bullshitted his way out of heaven knows how many such matches played on fresh grass during the first week of Wimbledon over the years, matches he had no business winning and in which...

Re: Rosmalen F: (Q) Mahut def. (2) Wawrinka 6-3 6-4, wins 1st title!

Nobody deserved a grasscourt title as much as Mahut - so it's good that he finally got it, all the more so as this might well have been his last chance to do so.

Re: Olympics SF: Federer overcomes Del Potro 3-6 7-6 19-17

Re: Bigger upset: Nadal cashes out to Soderling at the FO or to Rosol at Wimby?

This post has almost everything I was coming here to say on this topic. I'll just add that Nadal's loss to Soderling looks even more impressive in retrospect - winning three sets on standard issue...

Re: Longer grass court season from 2014, Wimbledon to be postponed by 1 week

Good to hear.

Having only 2 weeks between RG and Wimbledon was ridiculous. The only way to squeeze in that further week would be for Wimbledon to move back one or two weeks as holding RG earlier...

Re: BBC/Eurosport/Sky Sports/ESPN/ Etc - Coverage, Moan Thread!

Radwanska is the #1 priority for Eurosport these days, in any event and over anyone. It's crazy. Makes you wonder if she's a big shareholder of Eurosport or something.

It's the same with their...

Re: Madrid R3 : Verdasco def. Nadal 6-3 3-6 7-5 (comes back from 2-5* down)

Tuned in to livestream just in time to watch converted MP.

Nando coming back from 2-5* down in the third to beat Rafito is "when pigs fly" territory.

Strategic tank from Rafito?

Re: How much did the Final actually took, tennis wise?

WTA Linz presents an "actual play time" stat, which I assume counts only the time between each serve being struck and the ball bouncing twice (for a winner) or once (for an error). It's usually 9-10...

Re: Is tennis becoming inhumane ?

That's the problem.

These days, tennis only gets airtime on the mainstream news due to the comical length of some of its matches, so the trend is likely to be to make the courts play even slower.

Re: Kuala Lumpur F: Tipsarevic def Baghdatis 6-4 7-5

Particularly as winning a title had actually become an issue for Tipsarevic, judging from his meltdown in the Eastbourne final (contriving to lose a grasscourt final to Seppi - how do you even do...
