Re: Is Djokovic at $1.70 win RG surprising to many?

It's not often you see someone with that low odds to win a slam tournament he's never won before. I guess Federer's odd at USO 2004 was comparable. Difficult to think of other examples.

Re: Ask the board Thread

I've PMed the manager.

Obviously, TT play cannot begin today. Looks like there are enough players for two qualy rounds. The manager will decide if he prefers both tomorrow or if QFR should be...

Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

7,4% is not to be scoffed at. We've seen a lot of tennis results where the winner had less than that, I'm sure I won't have to remind you of them.

If he gets elected, though, you're of course...

Re: Quito R2 [Q] Renzo Olivio def. Fernando Verdasco 7-6 3-6 6-3

No, he beat Robredo in Båstad 2014. Ranked 18 at the time.

With this Olivo actually has a 3-2 record against players ranked in the top-50, and 3-1 in tour-level matches.

Re: Sofia QFs: all seeds go through

You're right.

Only one of the top-4 made the SF, though. One of the very few instances of both Federer, Nadal and Djokovic losing the same day.

Re: 302 weeks or 17 slams? What Novak will reach easier?

Federer is the outlier in the stats for the 170+ guys (Djokovic not included, obviously). Looking at the outliers rarely give meaningful information.

Of course Djokovic might be the 2nd outlier,...

Re: 302 weeks or 17 slams? What Novak will reach easier?

No? Sampras won four slams for his last 120 weeks as #1. Not six. He was on ten when he reached his 166th week late 1997 and ended up on 14 and 286.

For people with more than 100 weeks as #1,...

Re: 302 weeks or 17 slams? What Novak will reach easier?

Other notable exceptions among players with at least 100 weeks as #1:

- Nadal
- Sampras
- Lendl
- Connors
- McEnroe
- Agassi
- Borg

Re: The Live ATP Rankings Thread

He's probably just referring to one of the ambiguous ones. Nothing to worry about.

Re: Sets Played To Win Grand Slams (Open Era)

Trend continues, 24 sets for Djokovic AO 2016. More of a statistical oddity than anything else, I guess, but an interesting one.

Re: Was Federer injured in the SF against Djokovic?

Federer said himself he injured himself after the SF.

There is no more constructive discussion to get from this.

Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

He can certainly win New Hampshire, but I don't think that will matter much. Clinton won NH last time and it didn't help her then.

His best chance is either Cruz or Trump starting to run away with...

Re: Grand Slams Where The World #1 Was NOT The Favourite?

He wasn't bad on other surfaces, he just wasn't the best, his game clearly lent itself better to clay than to HC or grass. Still, he won the year-end championship once, won Cincinnatti once and...

Re: BBC: Evidence suggests match fixing rife in Tennis

Different bookies give different odds. All of those I saw was close to @3. This is a bit unusual for a #1 seed against an unseeded player and shows the #1 seed is not as big of a favourite beforehand...
