Not for sure, it depends on rankings... For example, last year Great Britain and Austria both lost in the WG 1st round, and they met in the play-off.

No, Russia hasn't won DC in 2007, USA won it :) We were the winners in 2002 and 2006.

Yeah, Kazakhstan Tennis Federation is now pretty rich, so they offer some good contracts for players... And if Russian girls who now play under their flag are, objectively, useless for Russian Fed...

But his only Junior Grand Slam was US Open-2003, so i can't say that New York is bad for him. In 2007 he lost to Nadal, in 2008 he just wasn't ready after his injury.
