Re: Is RG the tournament where Ferrer has the real shot to end losing streak vs Feder

I think it would be easier for Ferrer to win 2 sets in a Bo3 match rather than 3 sets in a Bo5 match as the latter would require a longer dip in Roger's level of play. Then again stranger abberations...

Re: nadal out of top 8 by 2015

Despite some early blips I'd be surprised if Nadal didn't finish in the top 4 this year. Rafa's position in the live race isn't good but there are still many points to accrue in best of 5 set...

Re: Barcelona Final: (1) Nishikori def. Andujar 6-4 6-4

Congrats Kei! Andujar can also be very proud of his efforts this week.

Hmm I had a sneaking suspicion it would be 6-4 6-4.

Re: WWW Barcelona F: [1] Kei Nishikori vs Pablo Andujar

Has to be Kei's to lose. I'll be a little generous to Andujar and say it will just be a difference of 1 break in each set.

Re: Players who play/played as gracefully as Federer?

Stan Smith, by my reckoning. Especially when you consider his height.

See for yourselves:

Re: Pat Cash: "Federer isn't the best because he cannot beat Nadal"

Of course it's very difficult to compare the competitiveness between eras over time - the confluence of different factors changes the context of the debate to one that doesn't have a satisfactory...

Re: Vercelli CH, QF: Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo def. (4)Kyle Edmund 3:6, 6:3, 6:4

Edmund really ought to be winning matches like these. It will be interesting to see how far up the rankings RRH can return.

RRH's failed tweener attempt in that match woke Fed up and the...

Re: Francisco Roig: 'Nadal will compete for the biggest titles at 33, just like Feder

If his body holds up, I don't see why not. Admittedly that's a big if but he has more talent than members of the subsequent generation and we know he is willing to put the hard work in. The biggest...

Re: Do you want to see a Novak-Rafa RG final?

They are the two best players on clay, so it only seems fitting if they were to duke it out in the final.

Re: Monte Carlo R3: [3] Nadal def. [15] Isner 7-6(8) 4-6 6-3

Great from Isner and great for Nadal to come through matches like these. Should give him much needed confidence with his new racquet.

Re: Will Federer win Istanbul?

Is this assertion being made solely on the basis of one match? He looked fine yesterday; Monfils was just better today.

While I do agree Wimbledon is the only slam he realistically has a chance of...

Re: Djokovic wins Laureus Sportsman of the Year 2015

Always nice to see it going to a tennis player but I think Lewis Hamilton deserved it more than Djokovic this year.

Re: Napoli R1 : Quinzi def. Rola 6-3 6-1

I have high hopes for Quinzi...had my eye on him as a potential top player since a couple of years ago. Next match will be tough though.

Re: Who will be YE#2?

I hope: Federer
Most likely: Nadal
Would make me happy and it's not unrealistic: Murray

Re: Bold 2015 Predictions?

Bold prediction: Top 4 will be Djokovic, Nadal, Murray and Federer in that order (bold because these days it seems to be fashionable on MTF to think that Nadal may fall out of the top 10).

Re: Matches you want to see on Clay?

With all due respect, masterclass, I think you are 6 years too early for that RG final, but I could definitely envisage it happening then.

I'd quite like to see Monfils-Fognini at the French...

2010 Soderling would be a good candidate for this poll too.

Re: Djokovic as a natural heel

Apologies for breaking kayfabe but Murray's recent jobbing is clearly leading to a Nole-Rafa double turn in the main event at the French Open.

Re: Nadal : I'm always anxious

He will feel much better after some wins / titles on clay I'm sure. Each player has a different personality - I've always felt that a little bit of nerves was good for contrast to, say,...

Re: WWW ? Indian Wells Final: [1] Djokovic vs [2] Federer, XXXVIII

Djokovic should still take this but he's only a slight favourite here.

It's the best possible final for the tournament. Hope for a great match as these two usually deliver.

Re: Indian Wells SF: [1] Djokovic defeats [4] Murray 6-2, 6-3

I expected Djokovic to win but hoped for Murray's sake that it would have been closer than it ended up being.

But the best player in the world deserves to be in the final. Hope we get a repeat of...

Re: WWW Indian Wells SF: Roger Federer vs Milos Raonic

They've had some tight matches. Federer in 3 tight sets with at least one of those sets going to a tiebreak and the other(s) featuring a single break would be my prediction.

History suggests it is...

Re: Indian Wells Epic QF: (6) Raonic finally defeats (3)Nadal 4-6 7-6(10)7-5

Raonic is so mentally tough; it's hard not to be impressed by that. I think that's what really sets him apart from the others in his generation - others who may have a better all round game.

To be...
