Re: Rome R3: Goffin DOUBLE BAGELS Berdych 60 60

The double bagel is a big surprise, but not Berdych or Goffin's performances. Both are moving in different directions in the Fatigue Factor (FF). I keep a running list on about 200-250 players on...

Re: Former French Minister of Health and Sports states Nadal might have served silent

The great news is no one here is being banned or suspended by this site for speaking about Doping. Especially about a fan favorite. It wasn't that long ago where this wouldn't have been the case.

Re: I am a fan of claycourt tennis!

there is a huge range of Crushed brick clay courts and weather geography also is a bigger influence on natural surfaces. Then of course the new ball technology which was in use at BA. That Aus Open...

Re: Tim Henman on Djokovic: "No, he is not the most complete player ever."

All this hype about roger and novak, but the player that really effected change in the sport seems to be Agassi. Taking the ball on the rise to be more offensive as a new age of tennis was about to...

Re: Bartoli: Peak Djokovic is better than Peak Federer

Most of this is true. Novak has improved every year since he's become a pro. used every off court device imaginable.. even possibly the new Halo technology for his motor cortex (check it out). But...

Re: Australian Open 2016 Court Speed

It's neither slower nor faster - just different. Desired effect is variable playing conditions suitable for all styles. Best example is the new Decoturf (started in 2011) and US open balls.. Climate...

Re: Us Open QR3: Bagnis def Escobedo 76(3) 61

I see he's been involved in Junior Action since 2011 and been talked about for a while, but he really has had a very limited match schedule in 3 years. Does anyone know more about this kid and why...

Re: Newport SF: [2] Karlovic def. Groth 6-4 6-4

DFs can also mean good aggression. For these "trees" it's wiser to stay out of the usual rallies that follow 2nd Serves. Nothing wrong with going for it and making some extra DFs

Re: Newport SF: [2] Karlovic def. Groth 6-4 6-4

Upon further review it seems to me that Groth was fine physically. Both he and Sock showed their inexperience. Sock was definitely fatigued, probably more mentally, but Hewitt exasperated socks...

Re: Newport SF: [2] Karlovic def. Groth 6-4 6-4

Agree 100%. Actually 3 out of 4 players were unfit today and Old Man Hewitt was the one in good shape! Sock was admittedly exhausted, Karlo was having back issues before even coming into this event....

Re: WWW Newport SF: Karlovic vs Groth

No, it's because "Center Court" consists of 3 courts - from left to right Court 1,2,3. Court 1 is used early in the week, Court 3 thru the Qtrfinals. And Court 2 in the Semis and Final

Would love...

Re: Zagreb R1: Karlovic def. Brands 6-7(4),7-5,7-6(3)

TC replay. I didn't say "before 1st Set TB".

This happens all the time, when a player looks incredible or terrible for some points of a match, that tends to be what everyone remembers. Brands...

Re: Zagreb R1: Karlovic def. Brands 6-7(4),7-5,7-6(3)

Absolutely. One in particular with Karlovic hitting the slider to the Deuce side and Brands was all over it with a big fhcc (forehand cross court) service return bullet winner! I remember a couple of...

Re: Zagreb R1: Karlovic def. Brands 6-7(4),7-5,7-6(3)

Specs=Specifications. The racquet technology improves every year. Along with what the players can add to their bodies. The power is getting off the charts.

I havent heard anything that Ivo made...

Re: Zagreb R1: Karlovic def. Brands 6-7(4),7-5,7-6(3)

Not really that fast - compare pics from prior years - there's more sanding now than ever before. Plus the Tretorn is a pretty heavy/slow ball.

BUT

This is the Rukort system of Acrylic on a...

Re: Zagreb R1: Karlovic def. Brands 6-7(4),7-5,7-6(3)

Great analogy. ;) I finally got to see the replay - it seems like either Brands didn't want to be there, for some reason, physical or otherwise, or he was match fixing. I'm not big on the match...

Re: Zagreb R1: Karlovic def. Brands 6-7(4),7-5,7-6(3)

Does anyone know if Karlovic changed his racquet specs this year or last?

Re: Wawrinka to lose number 3 spot...DelPotro/Ferrer to uppend him

I thought Ferrer was Rio de Janeiro next - he likes the latin clay, though I guess Buenos Aires out again this year

Re: Nadal's coach blasts Melbourne crowd over boos

Just to be clear - I'm not saying Rafa's back hurt before Sunday night. I meant to say "his physical issues" started with the Monfils Match.

Also want to add that Nadal played a rough match vs...

Re: Nadal's coach blasts Melbourne crowd over boos

Rafa's hurts started back with Monfils and the brutal rallies of that match. It was his foot that night. He looked panicked. But suddenly that was fine. His movement seemed slightly compromised vs...

Re: Del Potro - injury on his left wrist

Amazing. Just mindless opinions and no insightful analysis as to how he actually played against Bautista Agut.

Or maybe no one actually watched the match.

Re: Was Nadal allowed to leave the court for treatment ?

The top players can do whatever they want and the umpires will let them. (Except for Eva)

Nadal's the only one of the top players who consistently takes advantage of this fact. Its disgusting in...
