Re: Gstaad R2 - Ymer def Kravchuck 2-6 7-6(7-5) 7-5

I feel like this is Elias in a nutshell. He never makes it easy on himself even in wins. But atleast, it's a win and a ATP QF.

Re: Thiem calls olympics an exhibition.

No points and money makes it more prestigous actually. Means we can decide who has the biggest heart to really compete, a far cry from the entry fees and millions thrown at the players where losing...

Re: Stuttgart F: [3]Thiem def. [7]Kohlschreiber 6-7(2) 6-4 6-4 wins first grass title

A real late bloomer? The guy has 7 titles at age 22. Wawrinka is a late bloomer, Thiem is figuring it out sooner than most right now.

Re: RG QF:[13]D.Thiem def. [12]D.Goffin 4-6 7-6(7) 6-4 6-1

Finally a promising player that's not a headcase, someone you can actually cheer for to succeed.

Don't think he'll win over Novak, tho.

Re: Bastad Entry List (T/K)

Schedule is not a friend this year but can't remember a worse field, that's brutal. Feels like Båstad prioritizes the WTA tournament these days.

Re: Milos Raonic not leader of 90s generation

He's the leader in terms of ranking, but I agree there's a big chance someone else grabs a slam final or win before him.

25-26 years of age is nothing today, on the other hand. Arguably it's not...

Re: M.Wilander:"Winning RG without Nadal it's not an authentic RG, and Djokovic knows

At this stage of Rafa's career, that's almost like blaming today's players for not beating Sampras en route to their USO title. At least he said it won't have importance 20 years from now. A win is a...

Re: R. Nadal:"I cannot understand people who don't want to go to Olympics"

Nadal is right here. One tournament every four years, surrounded by tournaments that will always be there. Even if you don't rate is as highly as grand slams, it's not competing with them. Plus the...

Re: 2016 Live commentary thread vol. 10

For a guy who just won Rome and a big five setter, Murray is showing absolutely no confidence in his shots. Scared, scared forehands.

Re: 2016 Live commentary thread vol. 9

Lol @ all the winners that bounce meters inside the lines. It's like Murray is just guessing wrong.

Re: RG R1: (3) Wawrinka d. Rosol 46 61 36 63 64

Good match. Wawrinka was poor in the 3rd set, 1st set Rosol simply won with amazing shots. Thus the 5 setter.

Re: 2016 Live commentary thread vol. 9

Without finding his game last week like he did he would've been toast here anyway. Survive this match and he can go from there. He's not been super terrible really, many top10 players would've had a...

Re: 2016 Live commentary thread vol. 9

Re: Nice R1: Mathieu P-H. def. Chung H. 7-6(3) 6-3

Not sure if freefall is the right word for Chung, more of an expected regression. If he achieved his high ranking and all those ATP entries by actual big match wins it would've been one thing, but it...

Re: Rome QF: Novak Djokovic def. Rafael Nadal 7-5 7-6 (4)

If they didn't like the quality of this match I hope they didn't watch the clay season because it was the best match so far, and unlikely to be topped this week. Maybe a re-match at RG.

Re: 2016 Live commentary thread vol. 9

Honestly I trust the human eye more than hawkeye on clay. As long as the right mark is localised that is.

Re: Bordeaux R2: Ymer def Baena 1-6, 7-6, 7-6

Yeah 90% of the time he makes it look like he doesn't have an offensive game whatsoever. Maybe one day he'll figure it out.

Re: Bordeaux R2: Ymer def Baena 1-6, 7-6, 7-6

Well I think the medical timeout in itself was harsher, but probably justified so I don't know what to think about it. Underarm serve is a losing move at this level and he lost the point for it....

Re: Bordeaux R2: Ymer def Baena 1-6, 7-6, 7-6

I think he was legit hurt after that fall, but I also think the underarm serve might have been a clown moment.

Ymer also took a medical timeout after the warmup, maybe he was feeling something in...

Re: Ymer Brothers

Elias has really started to show more stability in his serve games lately. Today he outserved Rosol, who he beat for the second time in as many weeks. Really tight tournament there in Bordeaux but he...

Re: Ymer Brothers

Good win over Rosol today for Elias, and we can officially say he's made up for his so-so start to the year now. 134 on the race and 122 on the live rankings(potentially better after the week)....

Re: CH Aix-en-Provence QF: (6) Ymer def. (1) Rosol 7-6(6) 6-2

It's evident Elias is a high class challenger player on clay. So far he's paid equal attention to every surface, but maybe he should push it a bit more on clay to work his ranking up.

Rosol...
