Re: 2015 Tournaments Thread

Well.... that was reminiscent of the Wimbledon 2011 and WTF 2013 finals. Struggling with himself all match and that allowed Murray to grow in confidence.

He was looking the better player in the...

Re: On to the luscious grass courts

I was in the Centre Court crowd for this one and it was a damn satisfying victory. Midway through the second set things were looking pretty grim but after recovering from 3-5 in the breaker Rafa took...

Re: Roland Garros-terre battue-Rafa's favourite terrain

Both guys looked like they were really suffering at times. Not the prettiest match but the result more than makes up for it :rocker2:

Rafa was very emotional afterwards, possibly more so than...

Re: Clay Court Season 2014 - Time for Rafa to do some spring cleaning

Better player won today. Nadal struggled too much on serve, though he fought hard. He has gradually improved this week and I think we can be more optimistic about RG than a week ago.

Re: Clay Court Season 2014 - Time for Rafa to do some spring cleaning

Another comeback win! Can't fault his effort...

The first set was a horror show though. Nothing on Rafa's shots and Murray was able to repeatedly outlast him in rallies. He gradually improved and...

Re: Clay Court Season 2014 - Time for Rafa to do some spring cleaning

Rafa was very fortunate here. I can't see much satisfaction for Rafa or his fans from this result. He was on the verge of yet another loss to someone who has never beaten him before but more...

Re: Dylan Farrow accuses Woody Allen of sexual abuse

This is old news but yes, it's one of many leaps you have to take before condemning Allen without any corroborating evidence.

Yet there are no other reported incidents? Doesn't seem like someone...

Re: Dylan Farrow accuses Woody Allen of sexual abuse

It's too late, surely. There is unlikely to ever be a resolution. So Mia's media manipulation to re-tarnish a man's reputation with just about the worst accusation possible has opened a door for many...

Re: Dylan Farrow accuses Woody Allen of sexual abuse

That's not what happened, Mimi.

It is remarkable how many people seem to believe this, or perhaps they just use it as rhetoric.

As if there wasn't enough doubt cast on these allegations...

Re: Dylan Farrow accuses Woody Allen of sexual abuse

This is far, far from clear cut. And is also over 20 years old.

Re: AO Final: Stanislas Wawrinka def. Rafael Nadal 63 62 36 63

Nadal was not injured today. It is just no plausible. What is much more plausible, however, is that he decided to give up after losing one set and fake an injury because the opponent was just playing...

Re: AO Final: Stanislas Wawrinka def. Rafael Nadal 63 62 36 63

Huge respect to Rafa for staying out there injured yet again, as he did in AO '10 and Rotterdam '09. Somehow I doubt MTF will give him the respect he deserves for it. Thanks to Stan for ensuring...

I can't believe what just happened. Huge respect to Rafa for staying out there injured yet again, as he did in AO '10 and Rotterdam '09. Somehow I doubt MTF will give him the respect he deserves for...

Re: Australian Open 2014 - Double Career Slam, Down Under!

Well, couldn't ask for a better opportunity to complete the double career GS. Today's form should be good enough on Sunday too. Good depth, great passes, BH still looking solid, FH improved from the...

Re: Australian Open 2014 - Double Career Slam, Down Under!

I think if Rafa can tighten his game up, he will win. He needs to serve better, obviously, and cut out those worrying FH errors. Otherwise, it is going to be a very tough match. He certainly doesn't...

Re: Paris AMS & London WTF 2013 - A quest for immortality against the odds!

I was fully prepared for the result but not for the performance. Rafa really laid an egg out there... worst big match performance since Wimbledon 2011. An awful climax to an awful week of tennis.

Re: Paris AMS & London WTF 2013 - A quest for immortality against the odds!

Fifth time lucky :worship:

Let's hope Stan can keep Djokovic out there for a while, at least.

Re: Paris AMS & London WTF 2013 - A quest for immortality against the odds!

A result that maintains the integrity of the rankings :worship:

Hopefully Rafa plays with a bit more freedom for the rest of the week. Needs to be far more aggressive with the FH if he wants to...

Re: Wimbledon 2013: May the best be with you, Rafael.

It's a shame but given the seven months out and what he has achieved thus far, his season is still far beyond my expectations.

That said, he has to seriously look at his schedule... he was not...

Re: Rosmalen F: (Q) Mahut def. (2) Wawrinka 6-3 6-4, wins 1st title!

Yessss

Great way to bounce back from the disappointment of losing the doubles final in RG. He won't be remembered as just the guy who lost the longest match ever now :D

Re: Wimbledon 2013: May the best be with you, Rafael.

 What a horribly unbalanced draw.

Will be a hell of an achievement to go through the top 3 to win Wimbledon. Screech really lucked out with this one.
