Re: Australian Open 2014

I had to do a serious double :p take when I saw this pairing. I'll be scouring the 'net to find some coverage.

Re: USO R3: Hewitt defeats Donskoy 6-3, 7-6, 3-6, 6-1.

Like you, I didn't have the opportunity to watch today's match, as it happened. I'm hoping espn3 will carry it in reply, although it was on the grandstand court.

Will be very excited to see whether...

Re: USO R2 Hewitt breadsticks Del Potro 6-4 5-7 3-6 7-6 6-1

+1, my friend. 'Twas good to see, indeed.

A bit sloppy at times, way too many DFs from Rusty at crucial moments and JMDP's BH was clearly not there (ok, not so much on his FH either) but...

Re: Players you would like to see together

Hewitt/Roddick

Same generation. Both good on grass. Complementary styles: Roddick brilliant at moments, crummy at other times. Hewitt a model of (relative) consistency. Put Andy on the deuce...

Re: Teams You Want to See, Based on Nickname

Certainly not the pros...but there are two ladies in our USTA/rec league who sometimes play together. One's last name is "Sherlock"...the other "Holmes". I call 'em "The Detective Squad." The...

Re: Olympics R2 L. Hewitt def M. Cilic 6-4 7-5

Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi!

Will have to catch the full replay on some insomniac night, but good on you, Lleyton.

Re: Summer Hardcourt & Olympics

Who says 30 is old?

I'll admit, I gave up on him when I saw the first set score. Didn't look at the final until just a few minutes ago.

Woot! Woot! and Double Woot!

:wavey: Sue. And Deb...and...

Re: Atlanta SF: Roddick def. Isner 6-4 6-7(5) 6-4

Eh, 30 must be the new 40. :p

As someone who's closer to 50 than 40, I like it.

Re: Summer Hardcourt & Olympics

Sorry I couldn't rep you back...I'd have to spread it around first, and ehll (sic), I ain't around here enough to spread anything around.

Doing well, had the rare opportunity to catch some LIVE...

Re: Atlanta SF: Roddick def. Isner 6-4 6-7(5) 6-4

I didn't see the first set but second and third were wildly entertaining (and I don't particularly like bomb-fests). I'd have been ticked if I'd lost a set after only losing four points on my own...

Re: Suicide Tennis - Roland Garros - Post day #1 pick till 11:00 AM

Sign of the times, I suppose, picking these guys on Day 1 instead of holding them for the second week.

D1: Hewitt
BU: JCF Troicki

EDIT: Not sure if I'm to edit here or post a new one because...

Re: Suicide Tennis - Roland Garros

Thanks for running it.

Thanks, serve. Like I'd said, it's been awhile for me playing. Never really played much but usually rolled around for the Slams. I like the change to "Days" instead of...

Re: WWW Dubai QF Tsonga vs Delpo?

I must not be watching the same tourney as ya'll. Tsonga looked in fine form against a fitter-than-I've-seen-him-recently Marco. Didn't watch his match today...but the scoreline looks...

HELP!!! Need a poem/limerick for an 80 YR OLD

Please help me. You all are some of the most creative people I know.

We are throwing a party for my father's 80th birthday and I'd love, love, love something cute to put on the cover of the...

Re: AO SF: Bryan/Bryan def Lindstedt/Tecau 4-6 6-3 7-6 (5)

Being There is vastly overrated, esp if it's a scheduled C-Section. If it's the old-fashioned way, he can avoid the proverbial "You did this to Meeeeeee. I'm never gonna let you touch me...

Re: Tennis Books Not likely to sell

This one would have so many WTA (and a shockingly, growing number of ATP) co-authors...that they wouldn't all fit on the Title Page.

Re: AO R4: Djokovic battles past Hewitt 6-1, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3

There was a thread (www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=29301) about that many, many moons ago...and Hewitt's name came up often.

This was very nicely stated.

The highlighted part expresses...

Re: AO R4: Djokovic battles past Hewitt 6-1, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3

Didn't watch it with my eyes, yet (will have to catch the replay this afternoon)...but followed the points from the third set on (had to get the kiddies off to school).

But hatsoff to ya, Lleyton. ...

I'll agree with that.

And with that, I'll say g'night to the Aussies...and good day to the rest of y'all here. It was kind of like old times...
