Re: BBC: Evidence suggests match fixing rife in Tennis

Re: BBC: Evidence suggests match fixing rife in Tennis

The original was 1885.

The "little list" is the Lord High Executioner's list of those who "never would be missed".

There's a long tradition of altering the lyrics to include current or local...

Re: BBC: Evidence suggests match fixing rife in Tennis

Yeah, I think the danger is that fans start to be suspicious of every match where a lower-ranked player wins, but the vast majority of these are kosher.

Re: BBC: Evidence suggests match fixing rife in Tennis

Re: Murray shows up in the stadium for his brother's winner's speech at 1 AM

He doesn't play until evening. He can sleep in as long as he likes.

Re: Tomic: "When I'm playing my best tennis, I'm a top five player in the world."

Top 5 means better than everyone bar Novak, Roger, Andy and Stan. Ahem.

Re: Tomic: "When I'm playing my best tennis, I'm a top five player in the world."

The only top 5 player he's ever beaten is Soderling, 5 years ago, just before Soderling crashed out for ever.

So no, Bernie....

Re: Weston F5 QR1: Chase def. Morgan 6-4 6-4

Breaking racquets is not so smart when you earn zilch from tennis.

Re: Open letter: Futures & Challengers player admits match fixing

Instead of entirely stopping betting on lower tier events, you could stop the live play markets. It wouldn't stamp out the problem, but might make it harder to make good profits.

Re: BBC: Evidence suggests match fixing rife in Tennis

They said in the programme that it included doubles champs, no mention of singles champs.

Re: BBC: Evidence suggests match fixing rife in Tennis

In the slightly odd case that he was offered huge sums to lose heavily, why wouldn't he accept the offer? He's clearly dirty, and he would have expected to lose, probably in straight sets, even if he...

Re: BBC: Evidence suggests match fixing rife in Tennis

Re: BBC: Evidence suggests match fixing rife in Tennis

Nothing new really, except maybe the evident frustration of the experts from the police and the horseracing betting industry about how wilfully deaf, blind and dumb the tennis authorities are to...

Re: 2016 Live Commentary Thread vol. 1
