Re: New Masters on Grass at the cost of losing a 1 Masters on Clay?

Yes please, and take Madrid.

But the better thing to do would be to add a grass Masters at the cost of a hard Masters, hopefully Miami. And that, as unbelievably bad as the Madrid crowd is, Spain...

Re: Who do you think is the greatest shotmaker of the 21st century

Hard to answer anyone but Federer. Haas, Nalbandian, Gonzalez, Wawrinka all great ones too.

Re: Who is the greatest player to have never won a slam?

Did it in Valencia '10 too. Might be the case if you said top 4 though.

Nalbandian is being insanely overrated http://www.tennisfrontier.com/blogs/el-dude/best-players-never-to-win-a-slam/ This is a...

Re: A match for 1 Billion euro's on grass: Serena wins 1 game or Novak wins 6-0 6-0?

If she just went for first and second serve aces on grass, think she'd take a game or two.

Re: Who is the greatest player to have never won a slam?

Nice unbiased OP

Don't really see any arguments for Soderling or Norman. Ferrer, Rios, Davydenko are the three best candidates IMO, Nalbandian just behind.

Re: So who's the best returner?

This is correct. Djokovic is the opposite. Vulnerable to the best servebots because he has 0 block return, but awesome at exposing bad serves.

I felt like Djokovic and Ferrer were quite even a year...

Re: When will Federer win his next event?

Istanbul. Chance at IW, very little chance of beating Nadal or (non-injured) Djokovic at MC

Re: Play to win 2 points vs Nadal for 1 billion Or take 300k.

Fuck, that's rough. I might take the $300K because I'm cowardly and would probably choke. But going for broke I might could get 2/50 points. Definitely enough chance that the odds would be better if...

Re: What makes a vulture?

 I was a big Davydenko fan as well when he was relevant, do you not remember? I guess I was more on TTW then and here after.

Ferrer was a hell of a lot more consistent than Davy in Slams...

Re: IPTL Teams Announced - Nadal in Mumbai; Novak Dubai; Murray Bangkok

I am evidently the only one who liked it
They took it seriouslyish in the off-season, that in the off season is worth a lot to me :p

Re: Which of these Masters runs is the most impressive - Berdych vs Söderling vs Ferr

I think any would win in any of the other's draws, but Soderling's was probably the hardest and Berdych's the easiest.

Re: Rafael Nadal: Tennis must protect clay surface

About the right amount of clay IMO. Too much hard is absolutely right though, but should be replaced by grass.

Re: So who's the best returner?

I'm inclined to say Ferrer right now. Djokovic's return has been off the last year or so, though career-wise he's #1. Murray probably gets more back than those two, but nowhere near as deep.

Re: What makes a vulture?

Davydenko sucked in Slams. And won fewer titles despite playing even more than Ferrer. Although he won (2) more M1000s than Ferrer, he made fewer finals. But the Slam suckage is the main reason I say...

Re: What makes a vulture?

Ferrer is easily ahead of Berdych and Soderling. Tsonga is a little tougher, but to me that one is reasonably clearly in Ferrer's favor too. Nalbandian and particularly Davydenko are both close. I'd...

Re: What makes a vulture?

2 Slam finals vs 1 is absolutely the only stat where Soderling is better than Ferrer.

Slams: Soderling 0-2, Ferrer 0-1
WTF: Soderling 0-0, Ferrer 0-1 (Soderling was in 2, Ferrer 6)
M1000: Soderling...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 6

 Oh my god...

Nadal is really playing 100% defensive. The way he's winning here is not going to work versus top 20 opponents.
