Re: Miami R 16: Thiem def. Mannarino 7-6 4-6 7-5

It's Thiem time!

Perhaps this will be the coming out tournament for him?

He's still playing way too far behind the baseline for my taste. Most of the patterns he played involved bringing...

Re: Miami R16: Berdych def. Monfils 6-3 3-2 ret.

LOL at Gael, hes out there without any real game plan.. just junking and retrieving. It's a shame he got injured though you never want to see that.

Berdych who at times has been seen a villain and...

Re: Jack Sock

Sock takes over the ATP Insider... lots of funny videos, ATP is hoping Jack can take the number 1 US guy mantle. He's clearly the most exciting American player at the...

Re: Miami R1: [WC] Chung def. Granollers 6-0 4-6 6-4

Lol at Granollers coach shirtless in the stands tanning.

Chung has some unconventional looking strokes but as I've always said that isn't always a bad thing.

Also, why do all the announcers...

Re: Ivan Ljubicic says Djokovic and Murrray are boring

I think it's more like 90% of the forum agrees and then the 10% of the forum that are Novak/ Murray fans disagree.

Generally I think that's a consensus. Laws get passed with a much fewer percentage...

Re: Miami R1: Jack Sock Def. Go Soeda 6-3, 6-4

Sock played pretty well, came back from a break in the first set and it was never close after that. Early in the first Sock ripped off a few hilarious forehand winners and Soeda was rattled after...

Re: Miami R1: Berlocq "the Kokk blocker" def. Kokkinakis 46 63 62

Those volleys from Berlocq when he was trying to hold at 4-2 in the third.

:o:o:o:o

Looked like Kokkinakis hit the wall physically, not a good sign considering it's only 75 with 66% humility.

Re: Jack Sock

Oh wow! I totally forgot about this ... Sock has got to be riding a huge wave of confidence.

He's on court next against Go Soeda and a good draw if he can keep his form up. The ranking should soar!

Re: Miami R1: Young def. Lu 5-1 ret.

Lu pay check grabbing.

The right thing to do is to pull out and let a LL play. Not fair to the fans who paid money today to watch tennis.

Re: Ivan Ljubicic says Djokovic and Murrray are boring

Yea - doesn't everyone on MTF agree with sentiment?

Nothing to see here people move on.

Re: Jack Sock

Popsock into the finals... another huge boost of confidence.

With Miami just around the corner, I think Sock's ranking will possibly reach top 30... but he'll need a decent draw and to continue this...

Re: Jack Sock on clay

Just look at his record.. also there's videos.

Clay could be a great surface for him.

He's terrible on grass. TERRIBLE.

Re: Does any player have a worse two handed backhand than Jack Sock?

Why because he drew lines ? I can do that too.

Ineffective vs. Technique

Two different concepts .

Interesting timing of this thread it appears to have been started minutes after his loss to Fed.

Re: Indian Wells R4: Federer def. Sock 6-3, 6-2

First off , props on the Bolo avatar. *respect*

2 - Yes he has a fast serve, yes he has a great forehand but that's where the comparison ends with Roddick. Seriously you could say any American at...

Re: Does any player have a worse two handed backhand than Jack Sock?

Ehrm, because they did... just like Jack's unorthodox highly effective forehand. It's not at all by accident.

The guy doing the commentary is a hack.

Re: Does any player have a worse two handed backhand than Jack Sock?

I think this forum is reactionary, this thread only existed after yesterday's loss.

Federer has made a career of making many aspects of many players games look "SOCKY". Just don't be a "SOCKER" and...

Re: Who's your favourite one time slam winner of this century?

If 2000 isn't part of the century, then is SAFIN in the discussion?

Re: Indian Wells R4: Federer def. Sock 6-3, 6-2

Yep, that's exactly right.. Oh except not!! And you don't know anything about tennis. The purpose of going inside out is to not take a backhand. Surely you've never seen anyone hang in their backhand...

Re: Indian Wells R4: Federer def. Sock 6-3, 6-2

:):):)

Well said, I too have forseen the rise of Sock.

Why does he have to make a big change? You're right it's not like he had a great fall, and just made the fourth round in his first...

Re: Does any player have a worse two handed backhand than Jack Sock?

This is a troll discussion, so Sock takes a pretty routine loss to Federer and MTF wants to hate on Sock's backhand.

I LOLed at the amateur coach talking about what not to do, if everyone followed...

Re: Indian Wells R3: J.Sock def. RBA 3-6 6-3 6-2

True, I mean there as much similarity between their games as say Nadal's and Pete Sampras.

Big win yesterday for Jack over RBA... he played especially well.

Nothing to lose against Federer, though.

Yep - according to The BNP Twitter account and Sock himself he'll back this week in IW. Question is will he pickup where he left off in the fall or will he need a few tournaments to get back into...
