Re: Which tournament should federer skip : Basel or Paris ?

He should skip Paris.

Even though I like Bercy and it's a Masters, but Basel is at his homesoil so he should play there. Besides, skipping Paris will give him a weak of rest before YEC. Much...

Re: Shanghai [F]: Federer def. Simon 7-6(6) 7-6(2)

33 y.o. Fed wiping the opposition to get another Masters after Cincy. Strong Spartan Era.

Re: The greatest player ever not to win an ATP title ?

Benneteau. Losing all those finals is a pretty unbelievable stat.

Re: Grigor Dimitrov signs a 5 year endorsement deal with Rolex

Guy should start working on his own image, instead of coping Federer.

Re: Was Murray's USO 2012 win a bit flukey? Stats analysis.

Lol. Murray could only dream of beating Federer in straight sets in any Slam. Even in 2013, when Federer was much worse than this year, he lost 2 sets to him in AO, which was his only win agaist...

Re: WWW? Beijing QF: [4] Cilic vs [6] Murray

Cilic to end Murraysmo's dreams.

Re: What was Berdych's best blown chance at winning a major?

Definitely AO 2014.

Berdych really blew it against Stan in semis, as in the final there was just a crippled Nadal to beat. Had he won that semi, he'd be a Slam champion today.

Re: Nadal vs Djokovic: Who is a greater Wimbledon champion and why

Nadal because he beat Peakerer in the 2008 final, the match considered as one of the best tennis matches in history.

None of Djokovic' Wimbledon runs seems convincing. He almost lost it against...

Re: 2009 W Roddick versus...

He would win in 2010, 2011, 2014, against Murray '13 it would be 50/50. He would lose to Grasserer '12 and Grassdal '08.

Re: Who is better right now: Murray or Nishikori?

Nishikori is clearly better, right now.

Re: So Cilic has the best ROS/Serve combo atm?

So you don't look at how he actually returns, but automatically treat him as a bad returner just because he's tall. Seems legit.

Also, 1st serve % is far from the biggest serve factor. There are...

Re: Why Is Marin Cilic So Hated?

It's absolutely typical that someone who's not even 26 yet plays better, than when he was younger, especially after switching his coaches (funny how you completely ignored that factor). Many players...

Re: The "Big 4" Will Never Win Another Major

Murray and Federer won't. Djokovic and Nadal will.

Re: Why Is Marin Cilic So Hated?

Federer (and vast majority of offensive players) also does that, which doesn't make him boring to watch. Out of big guys, Cilic is the most versatile guy on Tour: slice, BH, angles, volley, ROS, it's...

Re: Why Is Marin Cilic So Hated?

Because MTF is full of frustrated mugs.

How can one not like a guy with not only great skills, but also so much class that he gives Tsonga a chance to repeat a MP, which Jo has lost distracted by...

Re: Will Berdych and Tsonga be absolutely kicking themselves for never winning a slam

Willy had that one magic tournament at AO 2008, pity he didn't win it. But I disagree he's more talented than Cilic, as his return is really bad and slice is nothing special, while Cilic has a serve,...

Re: Is Cilic the first slam winner without a sizable MTF fan base?

True. If MTF was an RPG, you'd get 300% boost of charisma by beating Nadal. :D

Re: Would Wawrinka win US Open if he went past Nishikori in QF?

Unlikely. He lost it even though Kei rationed his strengths and didn't really fight in a lot of Stan's service games. So even if he somehow managed to win it, he would still have to up his game...

Re: whos cilic us open 2014 v del potro us open 2009

This. Federer was clarly subpar, just as Nadal in the semis. Of course, it's still a very big thing to beat them in a BO5, but all this talk here about "prime Fed", "prime Nadal" is nonsense. They...

Re: whos cilic us open 2014 v del potro us open 2009

I guess, it's a matter of personal preference, whether you concentrate on the style, level of domination, or toughness of rivals he beat on the way. Delpo beat better opponents on the way...

Re: Is Goran Ivanisevic the best coach of all time?

Pretty much agree, except that I'd add clutchness to his greatest improvements, too. He used to have mental problems against top guys in the past, but now he is really clutch usually playing his best...

He and Norman are currently the best coaches on Tour.

Re: Murray, Nole, Rafa vs. Cilic 2.0? How good is Cilic?

Cilic 2.0 is still not good enough to beat Djokovic on a regular basis, who's such a bad match up for him.

He should be a favorite against Murraysmo, and have c. 50/50 chances against Federer and...
