Re: S.Q.T. (stupid question thread)

In the US Open the crowd can keep the tennis balls that land in the stands, but is it the same thing in the other US tournaments? Miami, IW etc? Or it just doesn't happen on the ATP tour?

Re: The worst tennis commentator EVER to commentate on a tennis match - Kevin Skinner

A very, very good post. He really sounds like everything is scripted. And it also really sounds like he's the only one there. The other guy rarely says anything.

I don't know who hires these people,...

Re: The worst tennis commentator EVER to commentate on a tennis match - Kevin Skinner

Skinner doing his best to ruin matches in Miami. He's just awful. Everytime he's on with Goodall it's pretty awkward. No chemistry whatsoever. Goodall is actually quiet most of the time. I don't...

Re: Play to win 2 points vs Nadal for 1 billion Or take 300k.

When he's serving it would be 0-40, maybe when we are serving it could be like a regular game. He would still hold his serves quite easily and also have break chances. He had a huge serve and some...

Re: Play to win 2 points vs Nadal for 1 billion Or take 300k.

Good question. Many of us would have no chance at all. I'd take the 300k.

But this could be more interesting. Forget Nadal and try against some real old timer from a different era. Play against Bill...

Re: "Speed up the courts and general court speed Thread"

Quite interesting stats from the Miami quallies. Some matches with a lot of aces and very few break points. I thought Miami was already last year a bit faster than the '10-'13 tournaments. Usually...

Re: Wayne Odesnik caught doping again, out 15 years (aka forever)

To be quite honest high school kids can also be really obnoxious. Probably not the case here, but you never know.

Re: Wayne Odesnik caught doping again, out 15 years (aka forever)

"Now"? That's a funny one. Is there actually anything people don't get angry about? In the year 2015 people get offended by every other word and fart there is.

Re: Wayne Odesnik caught doping again, out 15 years (aka forever)

True, then again Odesnik is obviously very unpopular anyway. If some other American player would get caught I don't think they would be so nasty. They'd probably be very disappointed etc, but I don't...

Re: Wayne Odesnik caught doping again, out 15 years (aka forever)

Very interesting how hated Odesnik is. Roddick, Querrey, Blake et co. were already very angry years ago.

Yes, he's a cheater but it's not like he slaughtered a village with 2000 people.

Re: Millenium Estoril Open officially presented - Update: Kyrgios confirmed

I saw an article in Portuguese, and it said something about Eurosport. I guess google still finds it. Is Eurosport gonna cover the tournament?

Re: Davis Cup: Souza def. Berlocq 6-4 3-6 5-7 6-3 6-2, ARG 0-1 BRA

What's the capacity at Tecnopolis? Was it only half full?

Argentina has played some big matches in Davis Cup at Parque Roca and it has been pretty packed and the capacity there is around 14...

Re: The Righteous Brothers

Those two singers were a bit more than just "a small part". The song would have been just another easy going pop ballad if it hadn't been for Bill Medley's very deep baritone. They had to lower the...

Re: The Righteous Brothers

"You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'," has been played on American radio and television more than any other song in history. That's a pretty nice stat.

Re: The Righteous Brothers

Did I say The Righteous Brothers were their only influence? Simon and Garfunkel were also influenced by the production and sound of those Righteous Brothers records. In a New York Post interview Art...

Re: The Righteous Brothers

I disagree, Sir.

Gone With The Wind is outdated and it doesn't interest anyone anymore besides some art students. Very old Elvis is maybe listened by some hillibillies and old timers. The 68-77...

Re: The Righteous Brothers

Those are just really old rock'n'roll myths. That so called Golden Age of rock'n'roll isn't worth anything these days. Everyone knows they were important as a cultural phenomenon, but the pure...

Re: The Righteous Brothers

I've been expecting you Mr. Holly.

The Everlys were popular during a time when there were only about three artists around. In other words during the weak era in the late 50's. They probably still...

The Righteous Brothers

I don't care about 60's music all that much, but I have to say The Righteous Brothers had some of the most beautiful soul songs ever made. You've lost that loving feeling and Unchained Melody are the...

Re: Who is the greatest player to have never won a slam?

To be quite honest that AO '98 final from Rios was one of the shittiest performances ever. Even Tarango or Braasch would have won 3-0 against Rios on that day. I still can't understand how was it...

Re: Who is the greatest player to have never won a slam?

One of the most easiest questions there is.

Rios. Hands down.

It's just ridiculous how talented the guy was. Too bad he had issues with his back, he could have been so much more.

Re: Rafael Nadal: Tennis must protect clay surface

Nadal is kind of right. We do need clay, but the clay season is quite right as it is. Obviously there should be more tournaments on grass. Grass is the toughest surface and the most intriguing one....

Murray and Roddick were supposed to play on a white court in Miami in December 2012. But I guess it never happened?

Re: Why does Nike insist on putting Nadal in pink? He never wins wearing pink

It's not about pink, it's about him losing his hair. Samson had the same problem. Nike should have a good brainstorming session and come up with a solution for that. A pink wig isn't out of the...

Re: "Speed up the courts and general court speed Thread"

Yes, apparently Wilson AO or US open balls. Wilson AO would make it even heavier.
