Re: 1999 - 2001 Juniors

15-year-old Govind Nanda won a G3 ITF event in Canada. It's his second ITF title with the other being a G4. This win should put him around 170 in the rankings, which apparently will make him the...

Re: 1997-1998 Juniors: Wiersholm, Nava, Kozlov, Tiafoe, Mmoh, Blumberg, Ponwith, etc.

Wimbledon juniors is underway. There are two very interesting first round matchups involving Americans: Blumberg vs. Shapovalov and Blanch vs. Ruud.

It's hard to predict how well Blumberg will...

Re: Junior Davis Cup: Sebastian Korda (USA) def. Felix Auger-Aliassime(CAN) 1-6, 7-6,

According to the article on the ITF's website (http://www.itftennis.com/news/228557.aspx), Korda trailed 6-1, 5-1.

Korda has not been talked about much, but he's increasingly looking like the best...

Re: 1997-1998 Juniors: Wiersholm, Nava, Kozlov, Tiafoe, Mmoh, Blumberg, Ponwith, etc.

Blumberg finished 5th at the ITF Junior Masters, losing to Ruud in his opening match and following it up with wins over Luz and Lopez San Martin yesterday. He looked good yesterday. His serve is...

Re: 1997-1998 Juniors: Wiersholm, Nava, Kozlov, Tiafoe, Mmoh, Blumberg, Ponwith, etc.

Caruana just beat Oliver Crawford 6-0, 6-0 to reach the final of the G1 International Spring Championships. He hasn't dropped a set in the tournament. Italy might have a decent prospect on their...

Re: 1997-1998 Juniors: Wiersholm, Nava, Kozlov, Tiafoe, Mmoh, Blumberg, Ponwith, etc.

Liam Caruana is now playing for Italy according to his ITF profile:

http://www.itftennis.com/juniors/players/player/profile.aspx?PlayerID=100173325

That's a shame. I think he has pro potential.

Re: 1997-1998 Juniors: Wiersholm, Nava, Kozlov, Tiafoe, Mmoh, Blumberg, Ponwith, etc.

The acceptance list for the Grade 1 International Spring Championships was released today. With the exception of Tiafoe, Kozlov, and Mmoh, just about every notable American born in 1998 or 1999 is...

Re: Thoughts on the American Juniors

Eubanks is 9th in the ITA rankings. He's played well over the fall and spring semesters. His serve and forehand are big weapons. It may take a while, but I like his upside. He and McDonald are...

Re: Thoughts on the American Juniors

It's fun to look back on this now. Tommy Paul wasn't even on the list and now he's one of the best prospects in tennis. Opelka emerged in 2015. Fritz has exploded. Donaldson and Kozlov have...

Re: 1997-1998 Juniors: Wiersholm, Nava, Kozlov, Tiafoe, Mmoh, Blumberg, Ponwith, etc.

Does anyone know what's going on with Will Blumberg? He hasn't played since the U.S. Open. He did accept an invitation to the ITF Junior Masters, which is held from April 8th to April 10th, but...

Re: Teenagers with One handed backhands

There's a 6'7", 19-year-old American named Christopher Eubanks who has a one-handed backhand. He's a sophomore at Georgia Tech and is ranked 6th in the country. I think he has a lot of potential.

Re: 1999 - 2001 Juniors

It's interesting to look back on how previous Les Petits As finalists have done:

2015
Winner: Chun Tsin Tseng (Taiwan) - Won Eddie Herr 14s and was runner-up in the Orange Bowl 14s. Has an ITF...

Re: 1999 - 2001 Juniors

Either way is fine with me. Maybe we should include the 2003 juniors as well now that they have or will be graduating to the 14s.

I watched a decent portion of Leustian's QF and SF matches and...

Re: 1999 - 2001 Juniors

I dare say that JJ Wolf is one of the best ball strikers among American juniors. I really like the way he hits the ball. He's a solid all-around player. He'll be a tough out this year, at least on...

Re: 1997-1998 Juniors: Wiersholm, Nava, Kozlov, Tiafoe, Mmoh, Blumberg, Ponwith, etc.

The draw for the Orange Bowl is out. Rybakov's draw is pretty good. FAA, Tsitsipas, Valkusz, Shapovalov, and Olivieri are all in the opposite half. He could face Hossam (runner-up at the GA in...

Re: 1994-1996 : Rubin, Kwiatkowski, Halebian, Papa, Corinteli, McDonald, Donaldson,

I caught some of Christopher Eubanks' SF match at the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships. He lost 7-5 in the third, but he might be the best American collegiate prospect. Similar to...

Re: Charlottesville Challenger Final: Rubin def. Paul 3-6 7-6 6-3 (saves 2 CP's)

Even that's not the end of the list. 6'10" Reilly Opelka, the #6 junior in the world and reigning junior Wimbledon champ, will be formidable in time (he's ahead of where Isner and Karlovic were at...

Video of Holt vs. Kalman Boyd from June:

I'm not seeing much in the way of weapons, but his recent results are encouraging. It's too bad he had to...
