Re: Barcelona coverage is an absolute joke

It's not the Catalan organizers. The fault lies with the ATP500 category in general and the TV/Streaming contract.

But hey, it's getting better. Not too long ago, there was no streaming available...

Re: BBC: Evidence suggests match fixing rife in Tennis

Lapentti was slightly below evens pre-match, about 1.9 on betfair. There was however some pro-Giannessi bias after Lapentti had given up the double break in the first set.

Re: Martina Navratilova calls for tougher punishment to Kyrgios

I have a sister and think he shouldn't be suspended for even a minute.

Re: new lucky loser rule?

having an extra rule for withdrawals that happen after the qualies have completed makes zero sense. Even if a withdrawal has not been made public/official, the involved players might still know that...

Re: WWW Barcelona F: [1] Kei Nishikori vs Pablo Andujar

Nishikori is going to face the guy (Andujar) that beat the guy (Fognini) that beat Nadal and has been playing well the entire tournament :wavey:

Re: Doping in Tennis Thread (No accusations without proof. Wada could test using hair

Highly expect TUE abuse to be rampant in tennis as well. It's in cycling, it's certainly in baseball and I see no reason for it not to be in tennis.

The ITF is sadly very quiet on TUE numbers.

Re: If Monfils ran the NYC marathon like Caro Wozniacki . . .

You're asking about the marathon time of a guy who regularly looks dead tired and like he's running on fumes after....4 games of tennis?

I have to agree with the rest of the thread. He'd be plain...

Re: Crowdfunding in tennis [POST #19 - Garanganga is trying to raise 10K to play AO]

Garanganga is currently ranked 322, last year the last alternate got into the AO with a ranking of 286. The two years before that it were guys ranked 304 and 288 respectively. Isn't it a bit...

Re: Sacramento R2: Williams def. Odesnik 6-4 4-2 RET

No sign of injury? Dude struggled big time with moving out wide and quick. Had already taken a medical timeout in his win in the last round too. Bar a a very brief period prior to the US Open, he's...

Re: Predict the H2H between Cilic 2.0 and Nadal?

Cilic 2.0? One good tournament in the vast majority of cases doesn't suddenly completely transform you.

Re: Lu handed three-year ban threat

Time for Roger to tell the ATP higher-ups that he won't have any of Lu being banned.

Re: Any news on when Cedrik-Marcel Stebe will return?

Most recent bit of news from him is an interview in which he said he was hoping to come back in Sarasota in April. Obviously that did not quite work out. Hip problems can be a bish.

Re: Doping in Tennis Thread (No accusations without proof. Wada could test using hair

I never said her performances aren't fluctuating. I did say she sucked it up big time at more than half of her played majors since 2012. You said that she always peaks at the right time for majors or...

Re: Doping in Tennis Thread (No accusations without proof. Wada could test using hair

Always "managing to play well at slams? Uhm.....She played proper crap against Cornet at this year's Wimbledon. Didn't run, didn't hit, didn't do anything. Before that at RG she put in a horror show...

Re: Next year, Rafa could set another record

DavisCup2014 is English. You'll have to pardon him as they're brainwashed from an early age into believing that the tennis season is exactly four weeks long (five from next year onwards) and there is...

Re: Tianjin CH QF: V. Rudnev d. M. Ledovskikh 2-5ret.

Why didn't he just play to a loss? Or did he notice he'd have to try far too hard to lose because he thought Rudnev had no intention of winning either?

Re: R. Nadal: "Center court was a little bit different. The clay [needs to] be fixed"

'It was moving around a little bit too much.'

would result in a lot bad bounces if the clay moves around and becomes very uneven. That whole thing can, afaik, be a sign of a newly or badly laid...

Re: R. Nadal: "Center court was a little bit different. The clay [needs to] be fixed"

Nothing wrong with what he's saying. A good clay court is one that has been laying for a while.

But of course the usual tards and trolls of MTF jump on a player's perfectly innocent comments for...

Re: Oeiras QF: Berdych def. Leo Mayer 3-6 6-4 6-4

That was awful stuff by Berdych. He can do so much better. No way should he lose seven straight games from 3-1 to 3-6, 0-2 and then again 4 straight games from 2-0 40-0 to 2-4 against Mayer. The...

Re: Munich R1: Istomin def Kohlschreiber 7-5 2-6 6-4

It was actually break point for Kohlschreiber when the umpire called a let and when it happened the German was in position for quite an easy putaway and very likely to break back. The let had to be...

Re: Monte-Carlo Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated April 12, 2014)

Not for Tsonga but for Gasquet, no? There are 8 qualifier spots in the main draw for 7 final round qualies matches too.

Re: Nadal's domination or Non Mandatory status - Why do people hate Monte Carlo??????

Monte-Carlo used to be mandatory and has way more tradition and character than the Ion Tiriac Open in Madrid could ever dream to have.

Pretty sure it was also him who had his hands in the attempt...
