Re: WWW Acapulco ATP 500 (AbiertoTelcel)

I will say the discrepancy between the two halves are quite funny. Misha again facing a Big Four member this year in the form of Nadal, which sucks especially he skipped some tournament in...

Re: Rio de Janeiro F: Thiem def. Carreño Busta 7-5 6-4

Closest competition now is Fed with 3260 points -- I think all Goffin needs to do is just 15 points behind which I think Goffin just needs to better Fed's results in Dubai to overtake him again,...

Rio de Janeiro F: Thiem def. Carreño Busta 7-5 6-4

In danger of dropping out of the Top 10 by losing his Acapulco points last year. The pressure of gaining points back, after some rough tournaments seemingly doubtful he could win. Yet, he seemed SO...

Re: 2017 Live Commentary Vol. 4

That was anticlimactic -- great win for Domi but a side of me thinks he won't go in full confidence yet seeing how up and down he still is in this match.

Re: 2017 Live Commentary Vol. 4

He's actually quite animated this whole season. People are saying that he's typically poker faced, but he has some deep emotions bubbling (see his DC outburst last year or 2015 I think). It...

Re: 2017 Live Commentary Vol. 4

A bit OTT by Thiem on that celebration but he really was fighting himself too to win that Set.

Re: 2017 Live Commentary Vol. 4

Sensible obvious decision and at least before the draw was made.

Re: 2017 Live Commentary Vol. 4

Thiem quite loose there...methinks he feels a bit of pressure of being the favorite here.

Re: Is Tsonga Currently A Bit Underrated?

First, what I meant by "current", is the 2017 Tsonga, where you would think he will be stuck in the 20's before the season started. And yet, he exceeded expectations by being back to the Top 10 (a...

Re: 2017 Live Commentary Vol. 4

That was a good celebratory scream by Janowicz there to win Bergamo CH. :)

Re: Marseille Final - [2] Tsonga def. [4] Pouille 6-4 6-4

A first for Tsonga and now has tied Nadal for #3 in the Race I think.

Re: Percentage of big titles out of total titles

I will say I am impressed how Djokovic is such a stingy player just showing up on the biggest events and yet consistently gets to go deep/or wins them even in his younger years.

Re: Percentage of big titles out of total titles

Yeah, but at times, some players don't really value Masters as much, making them almost as a "non-factor" for some as 500's are. Like, look a Stan -- just 1 Masters, but 3 Slams. It would drastically...

Is Tsonga Currently A Bit Underrated?

It has been a while when we think Tsonga is declining, especially being out of the Top 10. However, with his run here, he will return to the Top 8 again after a while, since May 23, 2016...

Re: Marseille SF: Tsonga def Kyrgios 7-6(5) 2-6 6-4

Out of the Top 8 yet had 3 straight QF's now on Slams -- hard to say he's a vulture (especially he SUCKED in the Optionals last year).

Re: Del Ray Beach SF: [1] Raonic def. [7] del Potro, 6–3, 7–6(6)

TBF he seems always tight against players who really has a high level, especially someone who had won a Slam.

*coop. :p I'm correcting you as a friend. :grin2:

Re: Rio SF: [2] Thiem def. [5] Ramos-Vinolas 6-1 6-4

It is just hard to say he's playing for points when he opted for the indoor hard route over the South American one...very inefficient vulturing if that was his main motive.

Re: Marseille SF: Tsonga def Kyrgios 7-6(5) 2-6 6-4

It takes quite a mental effort by Tsonga to keep himself focused during the match particularly in the 1st Set. As usual, Kyrgios was serving unreturnables, and Tsonga had to keep himself in check on...

Re: Marseille SF: (4) Pouille def (6) Gasquet 7-5 6-3

Nice win for Pouille, seeing how much Gasquet is sure out to redeem himself after not winning Montpellier, especially as needs lots of points this early, as he could drop quite some at the start of...

Re: RBA critical of schedule:"We should rest more"

TBF it seems his core grievance is how close DC is after AO (or for any Slams, for that matter). Logistics wise, the week after the Slam is like a rest week for ATP with virtually no tour...

Re: Raonic, Nishikori and Goffin: top 10 without holding a title

RAFAism I am pretty sure we are talking about NextGen (i.e. the hopefully less useless generation) who does seem to be primed for a Slam run in 1 or 2 years.

Re: Top 10 weirdest serve motions

For some reason I shudder when I see Lorenzi making googly eyes to the ball before he serves.
