Re: John Peers

Here's the ATP article, but it's pretty much all about Kontinen.

Miami QF: [12] Kyrgios d. [16] Zverev 6-4 6-7(9) 6-3

A bit of everything.

Kyrgios had 3 (I think) MPs in the second set tiebreaker.

Re: Miami R2: [16] Zverev def. Lu 6-0 6-3

I thought he played Asian challengers so he can get direct acceptance into these type of non-clay events. It's when his ranking is high enough for direct acceptance into Rome/Madrid, that's a...

Re: Drummondville Final: Shapovalov d. (4)Bemelmans 6-3 6-2 for 1st Challenger Title

LOL :grin2:

Cheers.

Was thinking the same about Kyrgios & Kokkinakis two years ago.

To answer the question: maybe Laver and Rosewall?

EDIT Litotes beat me to it.

If you tell me what ATG stands for I might be able to answer that.

Re: Drummondville Final: Shapovalov d. (4)Bemelmans 6-3 6-2 for 1st Challenger Title

Anyone know why he withdrew from his last tournament (a Future) before his semi-final? It couldn't have been too serious given that he played and won this Challenger days later. Just curious what it...

Re: Djokovic doubtful for Miami

I can't imagine that smashing your racquet against a hard court (while holding onto it) is good for your elbow...

Re: WWW? Drummondville CH SF: Shapovalov(17 y.o.)-[WC]Auger-Aliassime(16 y.o.)

Aliassime, the best 2000 born player, will play the two best 1999 born players back to back (also De Minaur). They're all still young enough to be playing juniors.

Re: John Peers

I like your updates. It's a shame Peers and Kontinen lost early.

But the Bryans did play. They lost to Kyrgios and Zimonjić in round one. Nice win by the way Nick.

Re: WWW IW SF: Roger Federer v. Jack Sock

So out of literally the toughest quarter of the draw ever, Federer's path is:
Robert
[24] Johnson
[5] Nadal
Walkover
[17] Sock
[21] Carreno Busta / [3] Wawrinka

Re: Drummondville R2: Auger-Aliassime def Polansky 6-3 6-4

No, that's why I said random. :wink2:

It's just the best example I could come up with. I'm pretty sure there would be cases where players have tanked and SOME of the motivation to do so was who...

Re: BOLD PREDICTION: Pablo Carreño Busta will be Top 10 after RG

He's 0-14 vs top 10. If you can't beat them, join them.

Re: Drummondville R2: Auger-Aliassime def Polansky 6-3 6-4

Random fact: Djokovic's only losses to players outside the top 150 since 2007 has been to fellow Serbians in ATP250s.

Re: Canada F2 Final: Aliassime def. Sakharov 3-6 6-3 6-4

Tomic was top 400 at just 16 years and 4 months. He won a Challenger at a younger age than Aliassime is now.

I know no one asked that, I just thought I'd throw it in for perspective.

Re: Canada F2 Final: Aliassime def. Sakharov 3-6 6-3 6-4

I'm guessing Duckhee Lee in April 2015 but I don't know for sure. He got as high as #325 before turning 17.

Acapulco SF: Querrey d. [6] Kyrgios 3-6 6-1 7-5

:/

Querrey's run:
d. Edmund 6-2 4-6 6-3
d. [5] Goffin 6-2 6-3
d. [4] Thiem 6-1 7-5
d. [6] Kyrgios 3-6 6-1 7-5

Impressive.

Re: If the US has/had Querrey for a shame thread

Michael Chang's slam peak occurred when he was 17 and was never repeated.

Tomic is another thing entirely though. Hard to believe that someone with his focus (or lack thereof) can still make the...
