Re: Data on the fastest players - from the last 3 years.

flawed results, this is only from measuring ONE tournament one year (i.e. the last Australian Open).

That's why you have crazy things like Raonic being faster than Nishikori or 35+ year old Hewitt...

Re: Newsweek: Djokovic is the true number one for 2016

dude: what are you talking about? the article makes ZERO sense. the official YE rankings have nothing to do with anyone personally weighing what they consider more valuable. It has nothing to do with...

Re: Newsweek: Djokovic is the true number one for 2016

what a petty article, bringing up overall H2H as if that has any bearing on the rankings or current standings. Also extremely petty for them to act like they can assuredly say that Novak deserves...

Re: Newsweek: Djokovic is the true number one for 2016

frankly a whiny petty article

it contradicts itself within two sentences "No one is doubting Mruray is the YE #1" "but the year can be cut into two parts"

Nonsense.

Its a competition for one...

Re: Milos Raonic is No.3

he's very marginally ranked #3 so to say he 'deserves' it particularly might be a bit of a stretch. I mean he earned the points he earned, but he could very quickly fall back to 4, 5, 6 depending on...

Re: What are we going to do when big four retire?

I would watch your words, Nadal did indeed have some injury problems last season, missing both RG and Wimbledon (in fact he looked good at RG for the first round or two before he had to withdraw)

Re: who will have the better 2017 season, Federer or Nadal?

I think Nadal has more potential in 2017 based on the fact that he's A) he's younger, and B) he actually was fairly impressive for a few moments in 2016.

He looked great right before RG, I mean...

Re: Murray desereved it, but i have 1 q that is on my mind

this, also Murray's Davis Cup points came off because magically the ATP decided to no longer award points for Davis CUp ties this year. Murray actually had multiple deficits for his accomplishments

Re: What was the single key moment of Andy Murray's season that turned into greatness

Lendl returning for Wimbledon

simple as that

Murray was playing fairly well earlier on in the season but nothing particularly pops up as super unique as a moment. But Lendl comes back for...

Re: Andy will remain #1 throughout most, if not all, of 2017...

naturally

Novak defends a shit ton of points at the start of 2017 through the spring, Murray holds a ton of his points from the last few months of the season. Would be surprised if Murray is in...

Re: Did Lendl regain his status as the greatest coach of all time?

one way or the other, either he's an amazing coach or his company just magically gives Murray massive confidence / motivation, he clearly has some massive effect

he pops up and a struggling Murray...

are you serious? if anything he threw in the towel MORE if he already was mentally defeated before being out on the court. Ferrer never has went on the court with zero belief. He may have zero...

Re: Andy Murray is the ATP 2016 Year End Number 1 player

Murray really starting to cement himself as one of the big 4. So consistently in the top few players for like the last decade, a number of slams, world #1, YE #1, lots of Master 1000s.

Gotta tip...

Re: Murray hasn't beaten a top 5 player since Wawrinka at the French

yeah it was kind of a silly criticism, the only reason Murray didn't beat top 5 or top 10 players (at least many of them) since September is because they weren't in great form and were being upset by...

Re: What does tonight's match herald for Nole's Project 18?

to begin with when Novak was in good form (like at the start of the season) it was pretty silly for anyone to believe in the whole '18' goal. Just based on what history shows of tennis players...

Re: London Final: [YEC #1] Andy Murray def [2] Novak Djokovic 6-3 6-4

well some credit should be pointed to the fact that Novak's RR opponents were pretty awful. Goffin and Thiem were ehhhhhh and then Nishikori played arguably the worst he has all season (tired or just...

Re: Poll: What's more shocking? Murray winning an ATP YE Final or Rafa being unable.

Nadal has come relatively close. But its indoor hardcourt- not only a fairly rare surface these days, but also a surface Nadal does not particularly like. Not exactly shocking that he hasn't won it

Re: London Final: [YEC #1] Andy Murray def [2] Novak Djokovic 6-3 6-4

realistically Murray has it set until next Fall. literally like half or more of his points (I think more) are from post September

Djokovic defends a 250 in Australia, the Australian Open, Dubai...

Re: London Final: [YEC #1] Andy Murray def [2] Novak Djokovic 6-3 6-4

Murray was solid throughout but pretty pushy in terms of gameplan. Not shocking though, he was probably mentally/physically drained so didn't really have the focus to put much variety forth or rush...

Re: 2016 Live Commentary Vol. 17

yikes this match so far is pretty representative of the downfall of Djokovic in the last 6 months

assuming he continues to fail this match and loses he is going to need some mega reset for 2017,...

Re: London SF: [1] Murray def. [4] Raonic 5-7 7-6(5) 7-6(9) *Saves 1 MP*

'terrible result'? the frustration shouldn't be at the results per say, but at the particular players for doing the same thing over and over and over. Raonic can only blame himself. He pushed for a...

Re: London SF: [1] Murray def. [4] Raonic 5-7 7-6(5) 7-6(9) *Saves 1 MP*

ridiculous statement if he truly said that

it was ENTERTAINING. highly entertaining because of the drama. but the quality was not there. It wasn't even the best match so far in this individual...

Re: Raonic will win a slam

if he does it will be due to the best guys right now disappearing, which is not exactly something to get that excited about. like the "Raonic will win Wimbledon at 30 when so and so are gone!"

Re: London SF: [1] Murray def. [4] Raonic 5-7 7-6(5) 7-6(9) *Saves 1 MP*

Raonic's problem isn't fitness, its that he is an awkward mover overall. That's not going to magically change just by being thinner. His frame, foot placement, etc, its just not that great for...

Re: London SF: [1] Murray def. [4] Raonic 5-7 7-6(5) 7-6(9) *Saves 1 MP*

both really quite bad throughout

Murray not clutch at all for the majority of the match. Both going from moments of mental strength to mental weakness in the last few games of the match and the...
