Re: Vasek Pospisil

Good win against Del Potro today. Vasek came up with some good shots to break back in the second. Overall, a pretty bad performance from Juan Martin, who only hit one winner in the first set and...

Re: Is Miami getting shafted?

Miami isn't getting shafted. It's a 1.5 week event, which means that it doesn't have to deal with other tournaments ending just as it's beginning. That's preferential treatment. Also, whenever...

Re: Frank Dancevic

Good week for him in Drummondville, getting to the finals in both singles and doubles. His serve doesn't seem to bother anyone anymore, so I can't picture him ever making it back to the main tour.

Re: Phil Bester

He won the doubles in Drummondville today, some consolation for losing in the first round of singles in a third set tie break. Good week for him overall.

Re: Jack Sock on clay

He should play the European clay court season from beginning to end. What's the alternative? I'm surprised at how many players forgo all those points and still hope to have a high ranking. You can...

Re: Canadian Doubles

It's Canada against Canada in the Drummondville final. Dancevic/Moser against Bester/Guccione.

Re: Davis Cup

Another good doubles win for Vasek today, with Sock, over Zimonjic and Matkowski in the semifinals of Indian Wells. Maybe Pospisil and Zimonjic will play against each other again in the semifinals...

Re: Milos Raonic

That's a remarkable win for Raonic, beating Nadal in the quarterfinals of Indian Wells. Keep it up, Milos.

Re: Frank Dancevic

He won again today, this time against Donati. He's still alive in doubles as well.

Re: Indian Wells

Sock and Pospisil beat the Bryans again, just like they did at Wimbledon. It's interesting that those two do so well together, given that they both put more effort into singles than doubles.

Re: Who's your favourite one time slam winner of this century?

I always liked Thomas Johansson. His game was so clean. I always felt like he didn't get enough credit for his win against Safin at the Australian Open. Johansson played great that day.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Nice win against Wolmarans in Drummondville today. It was quite an exciting match to watch. Nice to see another challenger tournament in Canada.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Best of luck against the Bryans on Thursday. Sock and Vasek are both out of the singles, so expect a full effort from them.

Update: they won! Sock and Pospisil beat the Bryans for the second time,...

Re: Frank Dancevic

Nice win today, coming back from a set and two breaks against Petzschner. He's into the main draw at Indian Wells. He's due for another big splash, like the one against Granollers in 2013.

Re: Davis Cup

Goffin is hard to figure. Good results in 2012, big losing streak in 2013, remarkable winning streak in 2014 (though largely in challengers). He doesn't have a lot of big wins, though he did beat...

Re: WWW Davis Cup Canada vs. Japan (March 6-8)

3-2 Canada. Japan would have won if Nishikori had played doubles. Canada won because Laurendeau is the better captain. Congratulations to Pospisil for playing three live matches and winning two of...

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Great performance by Vasek in the fifth and deciding match of Japan tie. He never faced a break point and returned well too. All this in his third live match of the tie.

I feel like he also...

Re: Is Davis Cup becoming a farce or not?

Davis Cup is not a farce. This weekend has been great. Djokovic, Murray, Raonic, Nishikori all played (Spain had no tie this weekend). Attendance is good, drama and excitement is great.

Re: Davis cup needs change

Don't change Davis Cup at all. Davis Cup ties offer amazing drama and complexity. Many commenters suggest changes that would turn Davis Cup into the World Team Cup, old format Fed Cup and Hopman...

Re: Milos Raonic

He won his first match easily and then pushed Nishikori to five sets. Overall, he was good, but not great.

Re: WWW Davis Cup Canada vs. Japan (March 6-8)

Nestor and Pospisil beat Soeda and Uchiyama in five sets. Canada edges ahead 2-1, but now Nishikori is well rested and Pospisil isn't. Interesting tie.
