Why did Federer cram his 2016 season?

Sad to see he's being hampered by injuries and may pull out of 2016 FO, but even without being injured, why did he cram his 2016 season so tight?

Especially for after the French Open, he's got...

Right now is the REAL Weak Era

For the past 2 years the main rival to Djokovic, the world #1, and by far the best player on the circuit is a 33/34 old past his prime.

No one else is even close.

Based on this simple logic,...

Tips for avoid choking in tennis

Today I played my first competition match of the season and I choked so bad that I just wanted to bury myself in the ground afterwards.

I should have won the match 64 or 63 in two straights sets,...

Bernard: Returning Serve ≠ Saving a Penalty

Watching the match between Tomic and Murray right now and it's ridiculous how Bernard guesses which way Murray is going to serve like he's trying to save a penalty.

He starts moving to one side...

Don't worry Fedtards, Fed is still the GOAT by a long shot

Only one argument is needed to settle this:

"34. That is all"

Federer between the age of 32 (almost 33) to 34 lost 3x GS Finals to the best player in the world 6 years below his age, who plays...

If Federer does really win, how would be celebrate?

Obviously hypothetically speaking, if Federer does indeed win the USO, how would he celebrate?

I think it's an interesting speculation as there are good arguments for both a strong or meek...

2014 - 2015 is the real weak era

Federer never played in a weak era. It's not his fault that no other players had the potential to challenge the top elites of the game in the last few years.

Currently with Murray and Nadal in...

Re: I'm having a real hard time liking Djokovic

True but I was counting the slams only.

Re: I'm having a real hard time liking Djokovic

Between 2007 and 2009 when Federer was beating Djokovic most of the time, Federer's base rallying was much more solid than it is today, and he was also aggressively attacking at the same time.

Re: I'm having a real hard time liking Djokovic

I guess I ran root for Dimitrov but I can't rely on him playing at least 3-4 matches in a slam.

These days I'm finding myself rooting for Karlovic, at least it's fun to watch him slamming down...

I'm having a real hard time liking Djokovic

Despite all his successes I'm struggling to warm up to Djokovic. His off-court personality is another topic but I'm struggling to like him mainly because his style of play.

His style of tennis...

Re: Believe it or not Federer still has a chance to win a slam

Yes. That's exactly what I'm saying. Realistically, how else would anyone expect a 34 year old to win a Slam? It's only still possible for Federer because his incredible talent and experience can...

Believe it or not Federer still has a chance to win a slam

From his performance in the past year and a half, and considering his competition, I would say he still has a real but slim chance to win a slam.

Yes he is 34 years old and is not get strong or as...

Re: Federer was lucky to be born earlier

No. Nadal and Djokovic are both lucky to be born six years later than Federer, so they can catch Federer on the decline.

There's not a lot of competition to Djokovic at the moment

The state of tennis is rather sad at the moment, I can't see any serious competition to Djokovic in the majors.

As we've just seen we can't expect Federer to beat Djokovic in a major anymore....

Re: Wimbledon SF: (2)Roger Federer def. (3)Andy Murray 7-5 7-5 6-4

Murray's decision to receive was a massive fuck up. It just put pressure on him serving at 4-5 and will continue to pressure him should he get broken for the set, as Federer will start serving in the...

How does prize money work?

For example, this is the men's singles prize money structure up to round 3.

R1 - 29,000
R2 - 47,000
R3 - 75,000

For example a player loses in R3, does he get paid TOTAL 75,000, or does he...

I think Federer needs a long break badly

I honestly think considering his age he's pushed himself too hard in 2014 by playing too many tournaments, and going deep in almost every one of them. From the start of the clay season in 2014 he's...

Is Federer the new matchpoint saving GOAT?

Previously it was Djokovic, in USO 2010, USO2011, and I think Shanghai Masters 2013 (?) he saved five MPs against Murray.

Now Federer saves 2MP in USO QF 2014 against Monfils, 5MP in Shanghai...

Has Federer screwed himself for 2015?

For a 33 year old his results and consistency this year has been tremendous.

This year to date he has achieved the following:

1 - Brisbane (F)
2 - AO (SF)
3 - Dubai (W)
4 - Indian Wells (F)...

Was the crowd really cheering for Nishikori?

I didn't watch the match but it seemed that the crowd showed strong support for Nishikori over Djokovic.

But I'm wondering did the crowd cheer for Nishikori because they genuinely wanted him to...

DId Federer just miss his best chance at Slam #18?

The US Open draw this year has been the easiest he's had for a long time. Then a gift came from the heavens when Nishikori beat Djokovic.

Unfortunatley he could not capitalize on this opportunity....

For a 33 year man he's played a monster schedule this year. In most tournaments he played he went very deep or reached the final.

He played both Indian Wells & Miami. Played Halle right before...

How long can Federer maintain his consistency for?

I'm wondering if Federer can possibly maintain his current consistency until his late 30s.

Other than a less than desirable 2013 due to injuries, his results in Grand Slams are incredibly...
