Re: Jiri Vesely is 1-21 After Losing the First Set

I think there may be more players with records like this than you realize- so many lower ranked players out there with bad attitudes who will just throw in the towel as soon as things don't go their...

Re: Nadal: I want to have more Grand Slams than Sampras

don't see why it would be that huge of a blow, if he has chances to win RG this season then he will likely have chances next season. he's won the event 9/10 played, I think it would be only naturally...

Re: Nadal: I want to have more Grand Slams than Sampras

actually hard question to answer

while I do currently think that Sampras's career is considerably better than Nadals (weeks at #1, YEC wins, overall dominance), I do think that Nadal could beat him...

Re: Buenos Aires title proof that Nadal is BACK?

yeah OP please stop with the jinxing attempt or whatever, obviously playing and winning an obscure 250 clay event where you don't face any player within the top 50 ranks is nothing to get too excited...

Re: Did James Blake underachieve?

if you bear in mind his injuries then maybe, but I definitely think Blake was the caliber of player that should have won at least 1 Master's 1000. considering his career high rank and general rate of...

Re: Did James Blake underachieve?

yes he did underachieve

the issue with Blake is that he never seemed to know WHEN to let off the gas. he does (or did) have the shots to be a 'shotmaker' but unfortunately he often would fire on all...

Re: Juan Martin del Potro accepts a WC into Indian Wells

does seem too quick when he had surgery and issues so recently. honestly I'm starting to get worried that Juan is mentally getting desperate to be in the tour again. I dig the drive, but blindly...

Re: Sam Querrey should be ashamed of himself

I honestly really like Sam. I like that he can be happy and accept his limits (or possibilities) and just enjoy his career for what it is. he's won plenty of titles and made plenty of money. still...

Re: matches that have made you physically ill to watch:

I also agree with another post 2012 AO was tough as a Nadal fan. blowing that 5th set lead was a shocker and gut wrenching for a Nadal fan. also the fact that Nadal had lost to Djokovic consecutively...

Re: matches that have made you physically ill to watch:

AO 2014 was very tough to watch. Watching Nadal not being able to play his game successfully for the majority of 4 sets was pretty tough on the stomach or heart or whatever. I mean you come into a...

Re: Marcelo Rios to contest Australian Open 1998 final outcome?

yes, and its sort of a crime against the crowds who paid to see Korda during those weeks and probably spent something like millions of dollars in combined ticket prices . . . . they paid to watch...

Re: Marcelo Rios to contest Australian Open 1998 final outcome?

had Nadal lost the 2005 RG final to Puerta then that would be another example, but this is an awkward situation. the issue is logic- Rios is trying to employ a warped form of it. yes, possibly Korda...

Re: Boris Becker : "CYGS is impossible"

this; he's only ever won more than one slam in ONE season. it's not that it was never possible, it's that he mentally fails too often in big moments for it to be likely to happen. Nadal and Federer...

haha slam winning would be awesome, obviously Coric would be thrilled to win one. not sure if that will ever happen

Re: Who is the greatest player to have never won a slam?

ehhhhh Nishikori overall (outside of the US Open 2013) has like no awesome GS results and hasn't won a Master's 1000. I don't think currently his legacy is a very strong despite his ever growing...

Re: New Masters on Grass at the cost of losing a 1 Masters on Clay?

Miami has too much relevant history in the last few decades for that to happen. only tournaments I see it possible with are the HC events at the end of the season. chop either Shanghai or Paris off,...

Re: New Masters on Grass at the cost of losing a 1 Masters on Clay?

I don't understand, why would we cut a clay Masters 1000? it would make much more sense to cut one of the HC Master 1000's, afterall there are like double the # of them than there are clay ones (6-3...

Re: Who would you love to se in the finals of Wimbledon 2015?

I think a Nadal vs. Murray matchup would be interesting at the Wimbledon final considering both have won the event and played each other there in the past but never in that round

Re: Who do you think is the greatest shotmaker of the 21st century

hahaha Agassi is far better than Djokovic with shotmaking. Novak is a fabulously solid hitter but does not hit that many great shot. he is reliable not exceptional in terms of shot placement and...

Re: Who do you think is the greatest shotmaker of the 21st century

torn between Agassi and Federer. Federer has more variety but Agassi was exciting with his shotmaking and did hit fabulous returns repeatedly and some absolutely crazy shots (see...

Re: Will Murray stage a Federer 2012 like comeback this year?

imagine if Murray lost another GS final this season- his record would be 2-7 in GS finals. I don't think there is any other player in the history of tennis with that poor of a W-L record in Grand...

Re: Which of these Masters runs is the most impressive - Berdych vs Söderling vs Ferr

have to bear in mind the time, in 2005 that actually was not THAT easy of a draw considering the opponents levels in that period
