Re: Stan Wawrinka: Federer is moving better than ever.

What did they say about Nadal? The Spaniard is actually a good example of a physical decline, although he obviously has other problems as well.

Re: Stan Wawrinka: Federer is moving better than ever.

What are you talking about? It's basic human psychology. "You look great!". "You haven't aged a day". This is the same thing here basically. Even if you choose to not understand this, you probably...

Re: Stan Wawrinka: Federer is moving better than ever.

First of all, there are only a handful of players, ex-players and pundits who say this. The other hundreds who think otherwise, won't say it for obvious reasons. But even those who say it, probably...

Re: Logic Says This Should Happen on Sundays Final

Djokovic is the favorite, but we'll have to wait and see. Nothing would surprise me. I feel this matchup is still relatively close and could go either way in any matches.

Hopefully Roger will play...

Re: Stan Wawrinka: Federer is moving better than ever.

Of course he says this after losing to him in straights. You think he measured the speed of his steps, or maybe, just maybe, wanted to lessen the impact of the loss by basically saying he could not...

Re: I really hope my premonition didn't come true!

Hopefully you have created a butterfly effect that will result in Roger's victory. I just hope you won't fade into nothingness in the process.

Re: WWW: US Open Final: [1] Novak Djokovic vs [2] Roger Federer

That doesn't necessarily have to mean anything. I always thought hard was Roger's best surface btw. I honestly wouldn't be surprised by any outcome other than a straight set victory for either of...

Re: WWW: US Open Final: [1] Novak Djokovic vs [2] Roger Federer

This should be closer than the Wimbledon final was. We'll see.

Re: Which Swiss would Djokovic prefer to face in the final US Open?

He played one set the day before the final and he won it 6-1. He also won all of his matches in straight sets up until the semifinal. So yeah, he wasn't fatigued and the only reason you are saying...

Re: Cops slammed James Blake to the ground outside his midtown hotel

They need to ban all firearms, it's really that simple. Policemen are paranoid because anybody can have a gun. If I remember the stat correctly, a lot of US policemen are shot each year. Even if they...

Re: Is Swiss Tennis screwed for eternity once Federer and Wawrinka retire?

Probably not for eternity, but a couple of decades could go by until they have another top 10 player and even if that happens, there is also a good chance that this theoretical player will not become...

Re: Roger Federer: "I don't feel like I'm as old as I am. I still feel young."

The things that declined (movement, reflexes) are much more important in the grand scheme of things though. It doesn't matter if he more well-rounded technically now when he is a shadow of his former...

Re: Roger Federer: "I don't feel like I'm as old as I am. I still feel young."

All right, explain the 2011 French Open semi then. And don't say it was one match, because that would kind of destroy your own argument. :D

Re: Roger Federer: "I don't feel like I'm as old as I am. I still feel young."

It's called positive thinking people. Also, have you ever heard the phrase - "you'll always the last one to know"? It's nowhere as accurate as in sports. Roger probably really thinks that. He will...

I think it's close, but probably Roger at this point.

Re: Why does nobody complain about Wawrinkas joke slam draws?

I wish this whole "top player has an easy draw" thing would just go away. That's why they are top players, of course they make it look easy.

Re: WWW USO SF: Djokovic vs Cilic

The same as the Nadal-Stan head to head before the Australian Open final, if I remember correctly. Who knows? Naturally, Djokovic is the clear favorite.

Re: If Nadal had beaten Tsonga in AO 08 SF, would he have beaten Djokovic?

I don't think so. I think his peak was between 2007 and 2010.

Re: WWW US Open QF: Federer vs. Gasquet

Well, just because his 34-year-old version is good enough against the rest of the field, it doesn't mean it's good enough against Djokovic. Or maybe you think this current, 29-year-old version of...

Re: WWW: USO QF: [15]K. Anderson vs [5]S.Wawrinka

Stan should finally get the job done. I think almost all - if not all - of their last four head to head contests were extremely close. Anderson won them all but that seems a bit random. If Stan plays...

Re: Why are so many top male tennis players so unfit?

Wasn't that linked to his diet and gluten intolerance though?

Re: Why are people talking like its a done deal Federer will make the final?

It's not a done deal at all. He could lose any of his next three matches. He would be the favorite in all three of course, but it's not like he is unbeatable these days. He'll need to play...

Re: The myth of Nadal's decline

I agree that he cannot be written off, but comparing him to Roger in that regard is tough... For starters, Federer almost certainly has less mileage on him than Nadal, despite being five years older....
