Re: The percentage of each surface/level ATP World tour (With picture)

This is always such a false argument.

Hardcourt as a surface has way more variety in speed and bounce than clay and grass. US Open and Aus Open are both hardcourt but play quite differently. So...

Re: Murray and Wawrinka in Grand Slams from 2016 onwards?

Veteran Wawrinka won a slam barely half a year ago, veteran Murray was in a final this year. And yet they both seem to be unable to beat super-veteran Federer most of the time...almost makes you...

Re: Which player would perform the best if...

Just imagining trying to return Karlovic or Isner's serve while blindfolded...yeah, no thanks

Interesting stats, thanks.

Re: Average age of top 10 players end 2015 - 30.1 years, was 25.6 end of 2000.

I don't think it's only to do with the talent of generations, there are other factors at play.

Advances in medicine, fitness and nutrition are allowing players to peak longer and play later in...

Re: Juan Martin Del Potro: ´I´ll return to compete in January or February´

Hopefully he doesn't rush it this time and things go wrong again...I still have my doubts though.

It would be great to see him playing consistently well again, he's an exciting player and a nice...

Re: Djokovic's weaknesses: Post your game plan on how to beat him

Weird how they often aren't able to bring their best against Djokovic it seems.

Almost makes you think there's some correlation there.

Re: Paris SF: [1] Djokovic def. [4] Wawrinka, 6-3 3-6 6-0

The mass exodus of people in the live commentary early in the third set

Djokovic wasn't quite solid enough in the second set and Wawrinka played some great shots, but the third set was total...

Re: Live Commentary 2015 Thread vol. 29

Typical "talented shotmaker" can only redline for a set and then becomes an error-machine as usual

But hey, that's what people like right? Such elegance, true talent shines through in that...

Re: Peak Safin vs Peak Djokovic: Who wins/who is better?

Underdog Djokovic winning the poll :worship:

Who knew anybody could be better than the almighty peak Safin?

Re: Who was better, Peak Safin or Peak Santoro?

Safin only winning less than 4 games per set (3.95) on average against Santoro, shocking :surprise:

I guess Peak Santoro's magical talents simply outshine Peak Safin's ballstriking.

Re: H2H Ownage by Percentage: Pigeons, Turkeys, etc.

Great stats! And amusing categories

Good to see someone actually work out H2H percentages for these purposes, since it works way better for H2Hs with a lot of matches.

The other system...

Re: Djokovic Beijing/Shanghai 2015 vs Nalbandian Madrid/Paris 2007

Nalbandian's run is more impressive. He won 2 masters beating the very top players multiple times, and he showed the peak of his abilities. He wasn't unbeatable though, people always remember the...

Re: Players H2Hs versus the Top Ten Servers in History

Interesting idea...but a lot of problems with this kind of analysis.

1) Federer can't play himself, so obviously the stats are extremely skewed in his favour since everyone else has to factor in...

Re: 2015 competition and Djokovic.

Nothing at either extreme, maybe a bit below average in terms of competition.

After experiencing the time period with the Big 3 + Murray all at their best, anything afterwards will seem a bit...

Re: Serious discussion, tennis is in the worst shape it's ever been

No, it's not. We're just seeing the inevitable slow decline of the Big 3 era, whereas we've been spoiled in the past 10 years with amazing play from 3 all-time greats.

Yeah maybe more youngsters...

Re: Does the use of SABR show that Federer isn't serious about tennis anymore?

So before Fed lost he's a genius who's changing the game, now after one loss he's not serious about tennis anymore

SABR is an interesting new tactic that has paid off for Fed somewhat, but...

Re: Better elite backhand: Gulbis or Djokovic?

The same inevitable problems always come up when trying to evaluate "stand-alone" shots. Saying that someone has an amazing stroke but it's just their shot selection that lets them down is a total...

Re: Better mover in tennis: Federer or Murray?

Wait, so you're saying movement is something separate from all of: court positioning/awareness, speed, range, and flexibility.

What the hell is "movement" then if not all of those things?...

Re: Kyrgios says to Wawrinka that Kokkinakis banged his girlfriend.

I mean, at this point I'm wondering if they're just paying the guy to keep pulling antics or he's actually just this much of a douche

Re: Djokovic wins 3 Wimbledon titles: we are witnessing the worst era in tennis

So many ridiculous proclamations today

I can't believe Djokovic has now won 3 Wimbledon titles and people are still claiming that his game isn't made for grass and it's an abnormality when...
