Re: McEnroe: If he's(Nadal) the one selling more tickets than his opponents, they hav

On one hand, I hate when players take too long to serve, and Nadal can get to my nerves sometimes. He should really stop doing it.

On the other hand, it is hilarious to see how the haters make a...

Re: Will Djokovic Return to #1 Next Week?

At Djokovic and Nadal situation, it is true. But certainly, for Nadal's legacy it would be very good to end his career with over 200 weeks at #1 for when it's time to determine GOATness.

Re: Roland Garros Final: [1] Nadal defeats [2] Djokovic 3-6 7-5 6-2 6-4

The first two sets were actually good, no other player on tour would have had any chances against them, IMHO. The problem is, Djokovic's reaction to losing a set wasn't that of a champion, while...

Re: Will Djokovic Return to #1 Next Week?

Well, if the points add up, he's #1. He has been more regular than Nadal through the last year.

Re: Djokovic vomits during FO final

That's not vomit, that's just a little phlegm.

If you believe that's vomit, you either need to do more sports, or go out drinking more.

Re: Djokovic was given the wrong trophy at the French Open

Now Djokovic knows Federer's joy. The old man never runs out of cookie plates when he has guests at home.

Re: For those trying to diminish Fraud's achievements by saying he played in a 'weak

Well, well well. Same old thread, same old hate.

I believe eras can be rated, but it's a bit more complicated than saying weak/strong. For instance, now I believe cracking into the top 30 is...

Re: Could Andy Murray Have Beaten Nadal Today?

Maybe.

If he brings a machinegun.

Re: Is Federer still greater than Nadal after 2014 RG?

Why would one take them away, though?

Re: Is Federer still greater than Nadal after 2014 RG?

Sampras has similar records than Federer, except Federer has achieved a 20% more in most, hence Federer can always be considered above Sampras. Nadal is different entirely, has other factors, but...

Re: Is Federer still greater than Nadal after 2014 RG?

h2h isn't significant when you evaluate a player's career, I agree.

But when you aim at being "The Greatest Ever" everything is significant, especially when the guy who beat you repeteadly is the...

Re: Is Federer still greater than Nadal after 2014 RG?

Federer still has a better career than anyone else, but Nadal is too close to consider Federer "the greatest, period".

Re: AO Final: Stanislas Wawrinka def. Rafael Nadal 63 62 36 63

And in the second set first serves were 140-150, and second even down to 125. The idea he'd throw away a final just because he was being overpowered by one set is ludicrous. If there's any acting...

Re: AO Final: Stanislas Wawrinka def. Rafael Nadal 63 62 36 63

Congrats to Stan, great win! I hope that back thing is nothing, back is a mong the worse injuries.

Stan was winning from the beginning, even if Nadal was still OK, so this is a fully deserved win,...

Re: 2014 Live commentary thread vol4

It's always complicated to focus vs. an injured player. But it's obvious this is Wawa's first slam.

Re: who here will even bother watching the finals?

If you truly love the sport instead of being a fangirl of certain player, how can you miss a slam final????

I have not missed a slam final in many years, except when I fell asleep or was unable to...

Re: Nole and Murray: Which AO QF loss was more worrying?

Djokovic.

The AO is his home turf, he was expecting to make history by winning it, and this has been a huge setback on getting back to #1 for the next 30 weeks. He sees reaching double figures slams...

Re: Will Nadals Legacy be tarnished due to his Time Wasting and Other Histrionics?

The real question is, what exactly caused this thread to come up... right now?

is it a serious curiosity over Nadal's future legacy?

or is it a childish attempt at suggesting it had some part in a...

Re: Nadal wins AO 2014 and this settles GOAT debate?

Also, don't forget it was all grass except RG. It's even more remarkable to win all four nowadays.

Re: Can Nadal win the 'grand slam'

Too early for any of this talk.

No, allow me to correct you:

Then he still has to win RG, which everyone asumes is trivial for him, but it actually isn't since he adapted his game in 2010, and...

Re: Whose AO performance was more impressive? Baghdatis '06/Gonzo '07/Wawa '14

Of all the surprise finalists, Tsonga was the most impressive one, followed by Gonzo, and Baghdatis the least impressive.

Wawa could end up being obviously above them all if he wins the final, of...

Re: ~~ GOAT discussions ~~ Vol. 2

In my book, no one can be called the GOAT right now.

Federer has a better career as of now than anyone else, but he can't be truly the "greatest" when there is a guy that consistently beats him, and...

Re: WTF F: Novak Djokovic defeats Rafael Nadal 2:0 (6-3, 6-4)

Awesome display from Nole, horrible match from Nadal, UE fest. However, even if Nadal had played much better, I doubt he could have won in this surface, versus a 100% Djokovic.

All in all, I...

Re: Who was the 4th best player of 2013?

You are right, of course, but tell me, what player would prefer Ferrer's achievements this year over Murray's?

Rankings are about regularity, and in that regard they are always right. But it is...
