Re: Atlanta Selects Atlantic Station As New Event Site

2012 is off to a very good start for me after hearing this news!

This is one of the smartest things I've seen the Atlanta tennis scene do in a long time. The location is relatively central for...

Re: Who is going to the Aussie Open?

I'll be there for quallies and the first week (M-F). Hopefully this rain goes away ASAP!

Re: US Open R3: Ferrer def. Gimeno-Traver 7-6(2) 6-2 6-2

Good event DGT even though this match was a bit underwhelming. Take advantage of the cash, points and confidence.

Ferrer was too good.

Re: USO R3 Montanes def. Nishikori 6-2 2-1 ret.

Montanes is striking the ball very well. His returns against Carsten Ball's big serve impressed me the most. He is robotically consistent (in a good way) and is hitting the ball around the court...

Re: Benoit Paire

The Lopez fans were super obnoxious. I wanted to be like A) he isn't hot B) his game is ugly C) he can't properly hit a one-handed backhand.

You guys should be glad though. Schuettler really blew...

Re: UO 2R; Anderson def. Bellucci 6-7(4) 6-4 5-7 6-4 7-6(2)

Yes, he had some friends there who were surely louder than normal to attempt their best to balance out the level of support.

Re: UO 2R; Anderson def. Bellucci 6-7(4) 6-4 5-7 6-4 7-6(2)

Good job Kevin to not get phased by the football match like atmosphere and super obnoxious behavior by the Brazilian fans.

Re: US Open R1: Brown def. Ramirez-Hidalgo 6-4 7-6(8) 7-5

RRH was the top opponent ANYONE could have wanted to draw. Dustin took advantage of it thankfully. :)

Re: US Open R1: Brown def. Ramirez-Hidalgo 6-4 7-6(8) 7-5

Brown had huge support and it was a fun match to watch!

I saw something in this match I had never seen on a pro-level match. RRH served first in the 2nd set tiebreak and then in the first game of...

Re: Michael Russell

Well, Kolya in the first round isn't what I call kind ... but I prefer it over Isner. :p

Give 'em hell Mike!

Did Berrer lose any weight during his lay-off? :p

Re: Who's Going?

I'm going all of the first week most likely, but I won't know until next week the exact amount of days I need to buy tickets for ... so I hope things won't be sold out!

I seriously doubt Ground...

Re: Who's Going?

Article below from a local TV station. Personally, I was very pleased with the tournament and am glad to hear they are returning next year. Obviously we're never going to have a Grand Slam and would...

Re: Atl SF: Fish def Roddick 7-6, 6-3

Supposedly Fish withdrew from doubles due to a twisted ankle ... has to be a minor one though with the way he's playing. I've played through ankle twists of all types (sometimes foolishly) and it...

Re: Atlanta QF: Isner def. Russell 6-1, 6-2

This match was a clear explanation of that if your serve is below-average to average and if Isner is not having a complete dud performance that life can be pretty hard that day. Russell missed...

Re: 2010 season

I talked to Lukas Lacko this week and asked about how Dominik was doing. He said he's feeling physically so-so but is just really careful about the amount of events he plays now and of course prefers...

Re: Atlanta R2: Lacko def Hewitt 6-4 6-2

This was a great match to showcase Lacko's beautiful strokes. Lots of good rallies as both are similar baseliners ... Lacko just a bit more attacking but also makes more errors generally. Today...

Re: Atlanta R2: Anderson def. Young 7-5 6-3

Anderson's serve is not that big for his size... Nor are his strokes. He rolls them in and is pretty consistent, when he gets a short ball and occasionally a return is really the only time he cranks...

Re: Atlanta 2R: Malisse def. Marchenko 6-3 6-3

It was a closer match in reality than the score indicated. Xavier is more experienced and won most of the clutch points. I had never seen Marchenko and it was nice to see him. After his "heat...

Re: Atlanta 2R: Malisse def. Marchenko 6-3 6-3

I got there early in the second set and Marchenko took a long medical timeout for heat exhaustion type stuff. Not sure about what happened in the first set, but from above sounds like Xavier may have...

Re: Atlanta reports and pics

I was in grey pants and a white oxford, straight from work haha.

Were you in a Clemson shirt? I think I saw someone in a Clemson purple shirt.
