Re: When a player's 2nd serve wrongly called out, why...

Ok ok, perhaps I misread it, you didn't actually say that the umpire MUST decide that the point will be replayed. It's not critical anyway, we agree otherwise: to 'replay' the point means to start it...

Re: When a player's 2nd serve wrongly called out, why...

Because that's what it means to 'replay' something: do it all over, from the beginning.

The beginning of a point is the 'serve', and the serve consists of two attempts. Thus, when you 'replay the...

Re: When a player's 2nd serve wrongly called out, why...

Because you are not thinking clearly. It doesn't have so much to do with 'fairness', but with the simplicity of the rules. There are no zillion ways to replay the point - only one, starting with the...

Re: When a player's 2nd serve wrongly called out, why...

It is not sophistry. Like someone said, what if a referee calls a good ball 'out', and the challenge proves it was in? Obviously the point needs to be replayed; but what if the point got off of a...

Re: When a player's 2nd serve wrongly called out, why...

Wrong. The point is never 'replayed' if it was in fact OUT (but mistakenly called in). If it is out, then it is out, no reason to replay anything.

Replaying is only if the ball is IN, but the...

Re: Top-10 W/L records breakdown—Active players—Federer with 50 wins at GS

Actually, it shows how incredible he is - on clay. His percentage is heavily boosted by his amazing record on clay. Outside of clay, he is 59-51, or 53.64%. Still great, just behind MAndy, but not...

Re: Is men and women getting equal pay in Grand Slams Fair?

Is it an unattractive woman's fault that she was born unattractive, so she can't earn as much money modelling as some beautiful ones can? Is it Olivier Rochus' fault that he was born with genes that...

Re: Is men and women getting equal pay in Grand Slams Fair?

Disagreed on many accounts.

Players don't get paid 'based on how far they advance' just because there's some cosmic rule that says it must be so. But because those who advance further, they are...

Re: How many more slams will Federer win?

I feel he has maybe 76 more slams in him, give or take 10 or so.

Re: AO QF: Fumbling Federer Goats Tyrant Tsonga 7-6(4) 4-6 7-6(4) 3-6 6-3

1 point away, as in, 1 lucky return winner, like the one Stan did the other day and was called out - even though it was in.

Whoever can see that match (USO SF 2011), super-peak Novak V2.0 turbo...

My dear, you're up for some rude awakening in, say, fifteen-twenty years. Here's to comfort you in advance

Re: AO QF: Fumbling Federer Goats Tyrant Tsonga 7-6(4) 4-6 7-6(4) 3-6 6-3

It doesn't matter how he feels.

I've watched him in 2004, and I'm watching him today. I see that he's not as powerful, defending OR attacking. Perhaps he is tactically (sometimes, not always...

Re: AO QF: Fumbling Federer Goats Tyrant Tsonga 7-6(4) 4-6 7-6(4) 3-6 6-3

Ladies still prefer hair - they just don't like the horseshoe :haha: baldness - or even worse, the comb-over, the proof that men can be such blind idiots.

So, if you can't have nice, firm, dense...

Re: AO QF: Fumbling Federer Goats Tyrant Tsonga 7-6(4) 4-6 7-6(4) 3-6 6-3

I'll quote you when Djokovic is 31 and Tomic thrashes him left and right.

Such a great idea, beating up an old man whilst yourself being in your heyday, and using it as an argument of any...

Re: AO QF: Fumbling Federer Goats Tyrant Tsonga 7-6(4) 4-6 7-6(4) 3-6 6-3

It is somewhat of a mystery to me, how can he perform so well in tiebreaks, when he normally gets obviously tight having breakpoints. He is a bit of a paradox, actually. You could say he has a poor...

Re: Australian Open QF: (2) Federer d. (7) Tsonga 7-6(4) 4-6 7-6(4) 3-6 6-3

Who was better in Rome F 2006? Just answer me that. If you don't say 'Federer' - then your claim that Tsonga was better tonight has absolutely no weight. Rather simple, isn't it?

Re: AO QF: Fumbling Federer Goats Tyrant Tsonga 7-6(4) 4-6 7-6(4) 3-6 6-3

Federer seems to be losing hair recently. Over the temples, it's really obvious. Since he seems to care for his hair so much  - I gather it's gonna be a tough blow for him to...

Re: Australian Open QF: (2) Federer d. (7) Tsonga 7-6(4) 4-6 7-6(4) 3-6 6-3

Oh the irony, for a Nadal fan to say this. :haha:

Federer lost like 5 matches where he played (way) better than Nadal - even having more points won, whereas Tsonga didn't.

Re: AO R3: Ruthless Roger Federer def. Bernard 'The Future' Tomic 6-4 7-6(5) 6-1

Yeah, I like the kid, too. Needs better conditioning and his game is good enough to compete with the best. And don't forget that in a couple of years even Djokivic and Murray will start approaching...

Re: How to pronounce player's names

Who slated you? It's very close. In serbian language, each letter (more or less) stands for a single sound, there are no 'rules' of pronounciation.

So, letter by letter, sound by sound, it goes like...

Re: USO Final: Murray beats Djokovic 7-6(10) 7-5 2-6 3-6 6-2

Really glad that Murray finally got one... it's been too long.

But the match was waaay too defensive oriented for my taste... Nole pulled the trigger only occasionally, Murray even less. There were...

Re: Equal prize money debate (Rob Koenig and Tipsarevic agree with Gilles Simon)

Nobody argues that Granollers, of all people, deserves more money than Maria, in particular.

The fact that you even consider 'comparing' one of the biggest stars in WTA to a general nobody in ATP,...

Re: Equal prize money debate (Rob Koenig and Tipsarevic agree with Gilles Simon)

Masha is by happy chance healthy (and pretty) and not disabled. That doesn't make her 'better' than wheelchair singles champion (of either sex).

It would be sheer RESPECT for the disabled people all...
