Re: Bipolar matches/players with momentum swings - how do you cheer on your favourite

2014 was a dark year for Fognini fans for sure...too much tanking, too much giving up, and not much good behavior. At least this year he seem to be more mellow about it, but still not as good as he...

Re: RG R3: Monfils def. Cuevas, 4-6 7-6(1) 3-6 6-4 6-3

I would say he's exciting in the sense he always brings drama in the court. We know he has the game to do well, hence why many thinks he has an "exciting" game. Personally, I am annoyed when he gets...

Re: Bipolar matches/players with momentum swings - how do you cheer on your favourite

Well Stan is the king of bipolar right now, so I worry every time when I watch him, but eventually I just know that in general if he's playing well in a tournament that he would probably still win....

Re: Which match should be on Chatrier - Tsonga/Berdych or Simon/Wawrinka ?

I guess that is the caveat that the twist that Berdych hasn't won on PC that maybe it seems strategically sound to put Tsonga there (being already played there many times this tournament and with the...

Re: Roland Garros R2: (20)Richard Gasquet def. Carlos Berlocq 3-6 6-3 6-1 4-6 6-1

Stepping up from the line finally gets Gasquet to the finish line and probably should've done that earlier.

Re: RG R3: Monfils def. Cuevas, 4-6 7-6(1) 3-6 6-4 6-3

Yeah, I really like the BH winners he ripped, quite clean and fascinating, although I agree he doesn't really chase a lot of balls compared to Robredo, and I agree his FH is not exactly that...

Re: RG R3: Monfils def. Cuevas, 4-6 7-6(1) 3-6 6-4 6-3

I would say though this is probably one of the rowdiest matches I have seen lately, even surpassing the DCs. I mean, it is like the crowd really, really wanted to push Monfils out of the Clowning...

Re: Roland Garros R3: (14)Jo-Wilfried Tsonga def. Pablo Andujar-Alba 7-6(3) 6-4 6-3

Was watching this alternatively with the Monfils match. I thought Andujar just didn't have the level today to beat a regular Tsonga, with too many errors which I didn't see in his past clay matches....

Re: RG R3: Monfils def. Cuevas, 4-6 7-6(1) 3-6 6-4 6-3

Was quite surprised how Cuevas was outhitting Monfils. Now I wonder how Fed actually is troubled by Monfils lately, when Monfils' shots haven't been penetrating themselves. He's like Robredo with a...

Re: RG R3: Monfils def. Cuevas, 4-6 7-6(1) 3-6 6-4 6-3

I would say my two cents. First of all, it is hard to alternate between watching a seeming good match of Tsonga-Andujar (with the latter seemingly out of gas and was not in the mode that could beat...

Re: RG R3: Monfils def. Cuevas, 4-6 7-6(1) 3-6 6-4 6-3

Am I the only one who thinks while the crowd probably got to Cuevas, at 4-1 it probably didn't have that big of an effect as Cuevas handled the rowdy crowd well before that. However, Monfils started...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 14

Uh oh, Mahut let Simon to break him to stay in the Set...would be worrying, especially as longer games go.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 14

Mahut just can't believe he's going to win against Simon hence some choking. Meanwhile, Simon's head is still not solid to even capitalize on it. Wonder if Mahut is just going to let this 4th Set go...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 14

Quite surprised that Mahut is up against Simon but his net play and controlled aggression is such a sight to see.

Actually it was since his win against Berdych in AO 2014 was the time he was...

Re: Why does RG not have lights (a 19th century invention)?

Am I the only one fond of the Wimbledon scheduling as it could benefit players greatly and there would be no accusations of unfair scheduling (unless the rain delays show up which is of course a bit...

Re: Youngsters playing doubles in GS...OK?

It's just the current metagame that is more about longer rallies being more effective than shorter ones is the reason why the shift on focusing so much in doubles. Before, we have many styles that...

Re: Youngsters playing doubles in GS...OK?

I hope no one takes this the wrong way, but I think ever since Djokovic got into the domination mix, it seems no top player wants to touch Doubles again, where unlike during the Fed and Nadal times I...

Re: Stan Rollercoaster Thread

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Hope Stan does well against Johnson, I think he just needs to pace himself and try not to redline if unnecessary (see how he played a very good return game on the...

Re: Only 3 Spanish Players Left in RG 2015 in R3

What is worse Andujar could've actually lost that being 4-2 down in the 5th Set.

Only 3 Spanish Players Left in RG 2015 in R3

This is quite a (negative) development for Spanish tennis. Other than Nadal and Ferrer, all of the other Spanish seeded players have been booted out before the 3rd Round! The only other Spanish...

Re: Roland Garros R2: Anderson def. Lu 5 -7 6-4 6-4 6-4

RBA kinda says hi, although usually he gets more "Who?" than Anderson.

Re: What seeds are in danger in round 1?

The unseeded rounds are now finished, and now we go to the Round of 32. Out of the 32, 14 seeds were upset before the 3rd Round, which is interesting to see due to RG actually being an almost upset...

Roland Garros R2: Anderson def. Lu 5 -7 6-4 6-4 6-4

Anyway surprised that KAnderson lost a Set on Clay to Lu or was Lu proving why he's not exactly a bad Clay player?
