Re: Who do you think is the greatest shotmaker of the 21st century

Peak Nalbandian got this imo. As for right now, Nishikori

Re: Play to win 2 points vs Nadal for 1 billion Or take 300k.

No, no, you'd serve out wide, Nadal would produce a short return (or even miss altogether) and you'd blast the second shot for a winner. This is a fantasy thread after all :D

I'll take 50 bucks and...

Re: A match for 1 Billion euro's on grass: Serena wins 1 game or Novak wins 6-0 6-0?

WTA players and recreational male players on MTF taking points/games off Djokovic and Nadal :spit: - I hope you guys don't seriously believe this stuff.

Re: Play to win 2 points vs Nadal for 1 billion Or take 300k.

Some of the replies here

I'd take the 300k and then multiply that money by betting on every single keyboard warrior in this thread turning into a spineless coward at the mere sight of Nadal...

Re: Which of these Masters runs is the most impressive - Berdych vs Söderling vs Ferr

You're right, it was probably an exaggeration on my behalf to put Berdych on the same level of hopelessness as Ferrer - who'd most definitely not have won with the top 3 present. Berdych was actually...

Re: Which of these Masters runs is the most impressive - Berdych vs Söderling vs Ferr

Cincy 2013 was NID from the moment Isner beat Djokovic. IW 2012 and IW 2013 were pretty good. I'd get Shanghai 2013 second (behind Bercy 2010) though, great tournament overall and the final was...

Re: Which of these Masters runs is the most impressive - Berdych vs Söderling vs Ferr

The draws is also no contest, Federer and Nadal withdrew from Bercy 2005 and 2012, Djokovic took a dive early in 2012. There's no way Berdych or Ferrer would have won those tournaments otherwise. You...

Re: Which of these Masters runs is the most impressive - Berdych vs Söderling vs Ferr

Bercy 2005 and 2012 were 500-level events (at best) under Masters tag. Paris Bercy 2010 was an absolutely epic tournament, this is really no contest, I'm going to assume you meant this thread/poll as...

Re: Which of these Masters runs is the most impressive - Berdych vs Söderling vs Ferr

Soderling easily. Federer and Nadal withdrew from Paris 2005 and 2012 (+Djokovic tanked early in 2012), those events were only Masters level on paper, field-wise and level of play wise no way; while...

Re: MTF 2015 Most Disliked Active Players

First update, 60 people have cast their votes so far. I'll update again after Miami, the top 2 seems clear but below that a lot can change between now and the end of the year. In brackets is the...

Re: What makes a vulture?

This is just untrue. Davydenko just ran into a peak Federer in all of his runs, AO 2006, USO 2006/2007, AO 2010, RG 2007... the only exception was RG 2005 where he ran into the very dubious Puerta. ...

Re: What makes a vulture?

You'd pick Ferrer over Davydenko and Nalbandian ?

Both have a TMC title, bigger than anything Ferrer has ever won. Both have more Masters 1000 titles too, and they won them beating...

Re: What makes a vulture?

It comes down to what you value more, peak or consistency. I think it's indisputable that Ferrer can't reach the level Cilic showed at the USO, but then again Ferrer is way more consistent - for...

Re: What makes a vulture?

But aside from his USO title, Cilic has basically no other big achievements... he hasn't even reached a Masters SF so far and only one other Slam SF, no titles above 250. Ferrer is way ahead on every...

Re: What makes a vulture?

Who has the better career then, Cilic or Ferrer? The way you seem to rate consistency I'm assuming your answer is Ferrer?

Re: What makes a vulture?

While there might be some debate over Ferrer vs guys like Tsonga, Berdych, Soderling, etc..., best Slamless player is beyond ridiculous. There's absolutely nothing to suggest he's even close to the...

Re: What makes a vulture?

Replace peak level with 'when playing great' then. Both Berdych and Ferrer are most obviously not capable of producing an average level near the likes of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. What...

Re: What makes a vulture?

This makes no sense, Berdych > Ferrer. Look at the link I posted above, Berdych emerging victorious against the most dominant force in tennis ever, he was basically the one denying Federer Olympic...

Re: What makes a vulture?

Fair enough about Raonic, but no idea why he's even being brought up here, I doubt anyone believes he's a threat to Federer, Nadal and Djokovic...

As for Berdych, yes on a consistent basis he might...

Re: What makes a vulture?

What a disingenious post this is. Berdych beat Djokovic and Federer back to back to reach a Slam final, dropping one set in the process; Wawrinka beat Djokovic and Nadal to win a Slam and Federer in...

Re: Nishkori was better off to lose today.

Great formatting and great post, all of this is true. It's the only way Kei could ever lose to such a markedly inferior player.

A topic about vulturing reached 100+ posts before I even came into the thread, it's safe to say my best days are behind me ;)

Re: What makes a vulture?

This thread is in dire needs of facts and I'm happy to deliver them.

1-Ferrer is a vulture.
2-Soderling >>>>>>>> Ferrer

Re: Acapulco F: [2] Ferrer def. [1] Nishikori, 6-3 7-5

Well, I'm glad I couldn't watch this one. Terrible result of course, Kei has been very unconvincing this year for the most part, I guess a shocking result like this one was right around the corner...
